What are angels doing in heaven?

Depends on their job. Some protect the throne; some sing praises continually before God; some go back in forth with reports; some go back and forth with missions, messages, and assignments. Some angels accompany souls to heaven and guardian angels are always bringing reports. Some are archangels and are over these various groups. Their various jobs are probably almost innumerable, and they may change every moment (because that might be how long it takes for them to get things done).

If God is said to do it, this is probably how He is getting it done. While God certainly can do these things Himself, He seems to like to leave it to the angels. I believe that this is because God is Holy and Perfect. Angels can and do often represent God directly, by His commands.

Also angels are witnesses. Not only of the earth below, but of heaven above. They will both be called upon to testify at the Judgement and be judged themselves. The Watchers and the sons of God appearantly go back and forth continually testifying before God what is going on in the Earth, and sometimes asking for judgement.

I might point out too that "angel" is more of a job specification rather than a being. Any being who is filling the job of being an angel is called an angel. In the Bible, some men who bring the Word of God directly to the people were called angels by God. Some of the beings, when they are not acting as angels, are refered to in the Bible by what they are rather than using the term "angels".

Heaven is apparently a very busy place.

If you've read any bibles then the words would point to, angels are attending the lord our god giving him praise and singing his glory in being such a good guy, as for your other answer you received angels do not become human and some angels don't even look human. What angels r really doing in heaven is mostly left to your own imagination.
The Bibles were written by men, changed subtly at most rewrites, and always protray what the society at the time believes.
So now days angels are hanging around god making rap songs about him, wanting to know why its wrong to doubt his gloryiness!

Heaven is a very large planet, and it's much busier than earth, to do with the people there and us here on earth. There is many angels, army angels, guardian angels, angels of many sizes and colors for many reasons, they all have jobs. Some with wings and without wings. Life is much bigger and greater in heaven. They are always preparing, they are busy.

Angels are messengers of God. They live to do His will on earth as well as in heaven.

Psalm 103:20 reads...

Bless the LORD, you His angels,
Who excel in strength, who do His word,
Heeding the voice of His word

According to Revelation, they also worship our God.

The arhats sometimes have mystical powers and people make pilgrimages around the world to them. The bodisattvas can intervene at any time. There are no angels in The Way.

If they are not out on business like protecting X's baby in an earthquake but ignoring Y's baby in the same earthquake etc. they have nothing to do. paradise is perfection itself eternal peace etc whatever those terms mean. I mean do we work for our daily bread or is everything provided for or we do not need it. Please somebody define peace for me. You are a happy(???) soul for eternity(???) So what's there to do??
Finally I do not understand why God the Almighty, Omniscient etc needs angels for. I am presented here with an Oxymoron. Why does this supreme being need a regular stratified bureaucracy with god at the top of the pyramid. Seraphim Cherubims, Archangels angels saints son etc. it looks more like the Greek pantheon

The work of God. Many of them (maybe even most of them) are not always in Heaven though as many of them come to Earth to help and to guide humans.

They are either assisting people when they die, or 'cross-over', helping those who pray in need, plan to return to the living for another challenge, or studying the possiblilities of another dimension to persue. There are many house with many rooms. Not made of eathly materials, but created with the marvelous minds that we have!
