Broke calcaneus bone in heel of right foot 4 years ago. Fracture was found 1 year later. Bone healed out of place. Now causes lots of pain. Have tried many different ways to ease the pain. Dr's say surgery is final option. They want to fuse the bones in right foot in 3 different places. they claim this will give me 20% improvement of pain. Not sure this is enough to warrent surgery. Any thoughts?

If you think it is not bad enough for surgery you should wait. The Doctor wanted to fuse my ankle 10 years ago and I waited. Now the pain is very bad but there is a new surgery for ankle replacement. I have a new Doctor and am waiting for insurance approval(truely the hardest part of this problem is the insurance issue)
