The Corolla is far and away the better car. It is technically supposed to be a level below the Sebring (the Camry is the direct competitor), but is still the better car.

The Sebring has already depreciated 50% plus in barely 2 years, and will do the same thing when you go to sell it next year. The Corolla is cheaper to maintain, insure and at the gas pump. In one years time you will get $5000 in trade for the Sebring, and the Corolla will still bring you like $7500.

Should this become a long term thing, the Corolla will go reliably for 150k miles, and the Chrysler will be on blocks well before that.

the toyota corolla holds value better as you can see with the price difference between the 2 cars and the toyota is 2 years older.

in general the corolla will have a lower cost of ownership to you, gas, maintenance, repair/replacement costs.

you also have to look at the mileage of the 2 cars. average is 12k miles a year. the car with heavier use may cost more in the long run, especially if it is the chrysler. also maintenance records are important, the car with better maintenance will be in better overall shape. another thing to consider is how long do you want to keep the car? a couple of years, go with the one you like best, if you are looking to keep for many years go with the corolla, everything else being equal. need more information to give you a better answer.
