The only way to motivate yourself is you, yourself understanding that, you need to be more responsible about yourself. It's very normal to be a lazy person when you know that everything is going your way, and you really dont care what happens to you tomorrow. It's again good if you have a commitment to someone - like a person you love, or your parents.. When you have a commitment to take care someone, and when u really feel it within yourself, you just cant be lazy. Another way of dealing with it is to do things systematically. You must have a deifined way of doing certain tasks, and you should make sure that you do it. It is again very important to make sure that you have your own fun time. Get involved in play groups, or club groups, and be an active member of something.

Just think of all those successful people who have made millions by working hard and starting with nothing! They were motivated and now enjoy the benefits of success. Be the best at what you do and work hard at it. It always pays off. Look at what you do best and exploit that talent to make money. Enjoy what you do and be the best at what you do. You either sit and stagnate or forge ahead with motivation. It's up to all of us to decide. You are just as capable as anyone of being successful, but only you can make it happen.

The best thing that seems to work for me is to get someone to do your tasks with you. If you attempt to do it alone, you might come up with all sorts of excuses.

Find yourself a partner or best friend, who does the same things as you would have to.

Exercising might also help, because exercising might help you feel sleepy (which will in turn counter your insomnia problem), and if you get sufficient rest, you will definitely gain the strength, energy and motivation to get about your tasks.

I used to work in 12 hour rotating shift. There is no way I can motivate myself when I am tired. Being tired, I am not interested in anything. Getting rid of your tireness will make you more motivated.

- Yoga help to remove fatigue. Do it twice during your off days. In one months time, you will find yourself more interested in the thing you do.
- Improve your sleep using melantonin. Non-additive.

I have many ways to help sleep better after night shift as well
as when you are switching from night to day. Check my past record if you are interested:

exercise. I have insomnia too, and it alway flares up after I have allowed myself to laze around, and then I feel like lazing around some more. Any kind of exercise helps, I think it is the fresh air that helps as well, so do it outside. Difficult, but worth it. And it gives you so much energy, absolutelly revitalising.
