Sometimes I ask questions.....and I had answers completely irrelevant to the point, things I never said or even imply. And yet somehow, some people twisted enough of my words and how I say it and claims I'm attacking them, I'm an atheist, I'm a troll, or whatever,

Sometimes I'd find an interesting Bible verse, though odd, I feel that it's out of context. So I just copy paste, then ask "Hey could anyone give a proper intrepretation of this verse?"

One person said I was an evil Godless atheist whose ancestors are monkeys.

Yep. Assumptions are great, isn't it?

So why do people assume?

When people assume, they mean to take your word. If you can't follow through with what you said, then chances are you are lying to yourself.

I have no interaction with what went on earlier, or any clue about it. I am just answering your question.

By being an atheist, you assume that God is not, but why even read the Bible, then? If your aim is to antagonize those who do read the Bible, then why over the internet?

I don't follow your reasons at all, I don't pretend like I understand you, either. I am a Christian.

I answer questions about the bible or God or whatever, I have found atheists seem to be very aggresive and email me at home telling me how I should act.......chances are that I act as an atheist? Slim to nothing. Those emails only confirm to me that God is real and that there are those opposed to God that will do anything to hinder Him.

Just a thought, the next time you are on your military warhorse fighting us lowly Christians.

Many people only see what they want to see. Once the assumption is made and set in their mind it is almost impossible to change. Too many people do not make an effort to read and understand what is being stated or asked, but rather make an immediate interpretation and react viscerally. It's unfortunate because it retards honest debate on issues, but such is the nature of the human condition. Personally I try to stay on point and remain above the fray as much as possible.

As I have pointed out before, I do not understand why atheists ask so many questions in the Religion & Spirituality section. Perhaps they need a separate section for atheists. Then we can all live in peace. While I do not always agree with the ideas on this forum, I am not against asking. Now if atheism is the opposite of ANY RELIGION OR SPIRITUALITY, why bother asking questions in this section? An occasional question or commentary in good faith would not bother me, but nobody needs to be assailed for thinking differently.

And no, I do not spend my time worrying about your relationship with the world and your soul and status. I do not think this of you. I have better things to do with my time than worry about atheists. I do not control the world.

I know what you mean. I've had people do that all the time. I think it's because people see what they want to see.
Even if there's no evil intent in a question I ask, and nothing rude or hypocritical, I still get the people who want to insult me for being a Christian. I get told all the time on here that apparently being religious makes me ignorant, intolerant, and afraid of other peoples' beliefs.
It's because ALL people are narrow-minded. Most of us only see our own ideology, and fail to recognize how alike all of us really are.

Oh, and lasagna, definitely.

Yes, I've noticed the same thing. When I ask questions about Islam, people immediately start attacking Christianity. I am not a Christian like they are assuming, so it doesn't hurt my feelings in that way. The problem is that their answers are completely irrelevant. Like you said, they don't answer the question at hand and assume a lot of things about me that aren't true at all.

Lasagne.

Tough question. Spaghetti is so fast to cook, lasagna is like a casserole.
Most of the Believers I have heard from are people who live in total fear. They were dying and found something to cling to like a drowning person grabbing at straws.
Anything that threatens their connection to their cult is a direct threat to their tenuous hold on life.

A person that is secure in their faith would not become "shark-like" .....I believe they would choose to teach, debate, remind or explain their belief without resorting to hurtful verbal defenses before "acting out". More flies with honey...as the saying goes...unfortunately, many don't see it that way....that is very unfortunate, isn't it.

Spag.
Because religion is full of nutters. They are attracted to thought that they have been chosen and therefore must be on a direct line to God. And they are in a position to judge you. You have to look for the true spiritual people who actually live their religion.
