Nobody knows Jesus' face. It is just the concept of an artist that depicts what they think Jesus' looked like. Basically, Artist take in consideration that Jesus came from Nazareth, (it is in middle east) that is why he is always wearing a long white robe and cloth to cover their head. that was the traditional cloth here in ME. He has a resemblance from an Arab man since he is from Nazareth. A long hair with beard. coz in Jewish practice, once a baby was presented and offer to God, they are not suppose to cut even a single millimeter from their hair.

Hope this could help why artist came out with that present pix of Jesus.

In North America he is most often depicted as being taller than his disciples, lean, with long, flowing, light brown hair, fair skin and light-colored eyes. Familiar though this image may be, it is inherently flawed. A person with these features and physical bearing would have looked very different from everyone else in the region where Jesus lived and ministered. Surely the authors of the Bible would have mentioned so stark a contrast. On the contrary, according to the Gospel of Matthew, when Jesus was arrested in the garden of Gethsemane before the Crucifixion, Judas Iscariot had to indicate to the soldiers whom Jesus was because they could not tell him apart from his disciples. Further clouding the question of what Jesus looked like is the simple fact that nowhere in the New Testament is Jesus described, nor have any drawings of him ever been uncovered. There is the additional problem of having neither a skeleton nor other bodily remains to probe for DNA. In the absence of evidence, our images of Jesus have been left to the imagination of artists.

Nobody of us now knew the face of Jesus.

The images which the catholics claimmed to be Jesus is just a graven image made of stone, wood, plastic and other materials that came from the imagination of the creative thinking of that someone who made it. Those are not true image of Jesus Christ

Can you imagine that the alleged picture of Jesus varies?. Some of his alleged pictures are smiling, some tired looking face, some are angry face, some are black in race which the catholics call black nazarene, some are with handsome face, some are of ugly face.

It is prohibited on the bible to worship those man made pictures of God, but they insist to worship it with an alibi that it is the picture of God which represent God but that is false belief.

If you want to have an experiment on this matter, you do this thing: Make a wooden picture of your wife and place it on your room. Hang it on the wall. Every now and then, kiss and embrace that wooden picture in the presence of your wife, then do not show interest to your wife anymnore. Just on the picture hanged on the wall. and let us see what will be the reactions of your wife. I believe he will get angry with you and may call you crazy. that is also true to God because God is a Zealous God.

Ppl DON'T know what Jesus looked like. I think Galilee was probably under Roman rule so its possible he had his hair cut in the roman style and he probably didn't have a beard.

I'm sure that you noted the "think" and "probably". Both of those words added up to "I don't know".
When Jesus comes at the end times,I doubt that anyone will be able to say - "Hey Jesus! How's it going? Long time, no see!" Jesus will probably look just like everyone else...

ardi: Your right ! As a Bible student for 35 years, there is no picture of Jesus Christ with the one exception of a Bible verse
describing Him as "comely". could you just imagine the "Last Supper" where an artist was called in to paint a picture of all of them seated around a table, together ! ?

No they did not have cameras in those days. They didn't have calculators or cell phones either, but they managed to add subtract, and keep in touch with each other, they also use paint to paint pictures. I do not necessarily agree with the artist rendering of the Jesus pictures we see today, but who's to say. These people weren't dumb they were in fact very creative and used the tools they had to portray images.

Jesus is Lord

i think the image of jesus was based on how people in that era generally looked like and what people feel or think he looked like based on his personality.

they portrayed Jesus as a handsome person because he was supposed to be likable and charming. it would be easier for people to like, respect and believe him if he was shown as handsome.

i heard that the person da vinci used as a model for jesus in the last supper is the same person he used for judas escariot.
kinda freaky.
they said that da vinci saw a kind man and he thought he looked nice so he used his face for jesus. then a long time after that, when he was looking for a model for judas he went to a prison. he saw a guy who looked dirty and smug. he didn't know the it was the same person and used him for Judas.

No one knows how prophet Jesus (Isa), may peace be upon him looks. This is why in ISLAM it is haram (wrong) to draw pictures of him or be an actor in a movie for him, and say that this is how he looks.

It is just an artist's impression of what a man of that day would have looked like.

That is not what it is about!

The call to Love GOD, To love one another,
how to live your life are the issues!

Much is written in the Bible about you, sadly, none of it is positive!
