Barefoot and pregnant! That's a good Mormon.

I am Mormon and I stay at home and take care my 4 month old. I also watch another baby, which is my job I suppose.
I do not know why people always say mormons are pregnant and barefoot. First of all what is wrong with being pregnant? It is the best thing in the world, you are having a child! I got pregnant once so far and it was not planned, in fact my husband felt like he wasn't ready to have children and we both wanted to wait 5 or so years. Now that we have had our first child my husband would like one more child in 5-10 years while I would like 2-3 in 5-10 years. SO please explain to me why we are always stereotyped pregnant and barefoot.

Raising a child is a job. Raising a child takes a lot of time. There is almost no time to sit and do "nuthin"

This society imo has it's laws forcing you to leave your home so you have less time to worship God undisturbed. Work as i take it to mean in the word of God can be anything you do to progress. Witnessing, taking care of your children and teaching them about God. No matter what you do for God. Do it whole heartedly with all of your might and all of your heart and soul.
