Food allergies and sensitivities play a major part in under-eye circles. Processed foods with artificial colors and preservatives as well as milk allergies can cause this problem.

The Internet abounds with home remedies. While the most common are cucumbers and tea bags, there are a number of others. Feel free to test them out, as some may work for some people, but use common sense.

Warnings
Be careful about what type of teabag you use. If you have allergies a tea bag like chamomile might swell your eyes.
Do not apply ice or extremely cold water directly to the skin around the eyes for more than a couple of seconds.
Exercise caution when using a new cosmetic product or trying a home remedy. If the condition worsens, or if you exhibit other symptoms, discontinue use immediately and contact your primary care physician or dermatologist for severe or persisting symptoms.

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

Dark circles under your eyes can be caused by lots of things. Allergies most common, lack of sleep, not enough water or just genetics. Do you rub your nose alot? Or does your throat itch? If so then your problem is allergies. Take an antihistime and drink plenty of water. They have good antihistimines that don't make you tired. It should take about a week before you see good results. Until you see results use make up. If the problem is a lack of sleep or not enough water then it is obvious. Sleep more or get better sleep, Drink at least a liter and a half a day. Get a liter bottle of Evian drink it and refill it. Every day.

There is a green, type of cream that sells in a lipstick type holder, and shaped like a lipstick that you can get from those Priceline stores. You put it around where your dark circles are and then cover it all with your other makeup. It sounds awful, but it does a perfect job. Why it has to be green I really don't know. Something to do with the chemicals in our skin, I think.

This sounds like a weird solution but apparently all the famous celebrities use it. Try using Preparation H on your undereye area, it helps with the swelling if you have any. Also, there are some eye creams with Vitamin K. This will improve circulation in your eye area and lessen the dark areas.

Buy a cover stick at the cosmetics counter. It covers the dark areas. It looks like a lipstick, but in various beige shades. You apply that before you put on your other makeup. You should be able to blend it in and cover the circles.

Avon Anew works pretty good. I have had no luck from the other stuff sold at other stores. And there is just no way that i can put prep H on my eyes.... So if you are adventurous give that a try first.

Try to get good sleep and at the bedtime put cucumber slice on your eyes.

In the meantime put concealing stick at the bottom of your eyes.

Hope I can help. God bless.
