I believe that they contradict each other. That's why the Pope recently said that people steer away from science and go more for the bible. Scientific knowledge has taught us that if members of the same family have children, the off spring are always born with genetic deformities. The Bible says that we all came from Adam & Eve. The more and more mankind discovers, the greater the differences between the two. What will happen to Bible validity when science discovers life on other planets?

Try Zondervan's Pictorial Encyclopedia of the Bible and books on Biblical Archeology. More science there than you can shake an athiest at.

The Bible is a selection of tales and legends inspired by bronze age middle eastern goat herders that enjoyed telling each other stories at night around the camp fire and playing to scare each other. It has absolutely nothing to do with science.
Science is about knowledge, questioning, observing, challenging, experimenting, peer review etc... In the good old days, scientist and their worked were burned on the market place because knowledge leads to heresy .
Religion needs ignorance to strive. This can still be observed today.

Unfortunately most people want to believe that there is no scientific fact to the belief in God. Any scientist that believes in Creation instead of evolution is labeled a crackpot irregardless of his credentials. They are becoming the witch hunters of the 1700's. Destroy anything that disagrees with them. Go to most good bookstores, esp bible bookstores and you can find tons of books written by scientists that believe in the Bible and Creation.

high: Studying both, theology and the sciences for well over 35 years, I can lay claim to the fact, that Bible fact and scientific FACT (not theory) DO complement one another. for example: the first law of bio genesis: "Life must come from life". This is consistent with both, the Bible and bio science.
