What is the benefit in denying Jesus Christ lived when you can find proof so easily. Why not take a chance that there is something more, you have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Faith changes things or I would not try desperately to tell you. Why strain at a nat and swallow a camel. Fighting belief in God and believing in random luck creating the universe.

I don't feel the slightest bit unfulfilled. I don't deny God, but christs life was denied by God (I'll get to that in a moment) and I don't need more than this life. This life was the opportunity we were given to make ourselves happy and fulfilled, and He gave us everything we needed to do it. I believe that this world is the only heaven I need. When I die, my brain will cease to function and I will be blissfully unaware of the nothingness.
Now back to the bunk in the bible about Christ. God said, "Beware the false profit," right? When Mary and Joseph needed a place to give birth to baby jesus, they couldn't find anything but a manger. I have to tell you, I've asked God for far less important things than that and gotten them. Every single thing that I genuinely needed, ever. And I'll tell you something else, if my only begotten son needed a place to be born, he'd have it. And he would have risen from the cross in front of everyone if they dared to put my only begotten son there, not in some cave, where nobody knew whether the cave had been robbed in the night. The fact that God so clearly exists proves that Jesus is not his son. He once lifted my 9 year old son over three lanes of fast moving traffic and placed him in the median so that he would not be hit by two other cars after the first one hit him. I think that proves that he exists, and that had jesus been his son, he would have performed those miracles that he needed throughout his life. He's done it for me, repeatedly.

You deny over 2800 gods. It must be very unfulfilling.

And again with the luck. You're just screaming: "christians are terrible at science!"

Oh boy, pascal's wager. Here we go...

Pascal's wager:

"If god exists, it's infinitely better to believe, since you get heaven instead of hell for eternity. If he doesn't, it doesn't matter since you're dead anyway. So overall it's better to believe"

This is, of course, false.

Some of the problems with the argument:

* The implied assumption that god may exist (with a 50% probability, no less!)

* The assumption that there is an afterlife with a heaven and hell

* The assumption that the god cares about belief in him/her above all else

* The assumption that if you believe in a god, it will definitely be the same god that actually exists.

* The assumption that you lose nothing if it's false. You have lost a great deal, from time praying to a nonexistent entity (somebody mentioned just today praying several hours a day!!!) to morality (your god may ask you to hurt other people) and much more besides.

* The assumption that people can believe in something simply because it benefits them. Would you believe goblins exist for twenty bucks? Why not?

* The assumption that any god won't see through the "believing just to get into heaven" ploy.

You're right! The universe is one of the basic revelation about the existence of God and every person here on earth is also an obvious existence of this True God! How can one ever deny God if one has the ear to hear, the eyes to see all these proof of God's presence within him, around him, and among the people? Even if one has not known God (as another would have known him more), He (God) cannot be denied. His own conscience is God's voice within him. Of-course we've got to consider also the type of conscience that the person has. Here formation comes in because there are various types of consciences: right conscience, erroneous conscience, scrupulous conscience, etc.

"What does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and loose his own soul?" Following the right conscience, which is God's written law in ones being means one is on the right path set by God himself. However, he is still a pilgrim here on earth. He, therefore has to keep up till he is called to retire from this world to the next world.

Loosing ones soul would mean to indulge oneself in the temporary pleasures that this world offers.

Unrepentant sinners deny God, for the same reasons Satan rebelled: Selfish Pride and Hardened Hearts. Many would rather risk eternal separation from the Lord, than humble themselves to Truth, and the Sovereign Power of God.

Like Satan, many will never repent or develop a relationship with the Lord. They worship their own intellect, and view dependence on self as above all other. They can not see beyond the self-centered existence they've created.

Their thinking, spirit, and hearts are filled with the same spiritual poison as the one they've chosen to follow(Satan). As a result, their destiny has already been set, and the Lord will respond accordingly.

Unlike Sinners who are spiritually ignorant(as we all have been), who will eventually return to the Lord, unrepentant sinners, have already chosen their path, and nothing the Lord or any Christian could possibly say or do, would change them.

Your question touches on the starting up position of the RCC. If Jesus did not institute apostolic succession, then the Papacy is an invalid position and the total ecclesiastic structure crumbles. The rcc teaches that there became a familiar consensus between the early church fathers that there could prefer to be a head Bishop over all interior of reach assemblies. heritage it seems that exposes this statement as pretend. earlier to Emperor Constantine's appointment of Rome because the epicenter of Christian rule and authority, the church at Rome wasn't considered a lot extra important than the perfect assembly. there is info of that interior the recent testomony Epistles on my own, as well the writings of the early church fathers. only examine the letters of Tertullian, Eusebius, Origen, and Cyprian to commence. The rcc will use exerpts from such writings to protect their position, yet a closer seem at such excerpts well-knownshows that they were taken out of context.

first off, there is no definite proof he exists. You have faith and the Discovery Channel. "Oh, there is a piece of cloth that resembles his face" Yea, i've seen it on bread too. So easily obtained proof is usually said from baised tongues. As for the benefit, you do not understand. To those who do not believe, the see no benefit in staying. Nothing is lost when they realise he does not exist(at least in their eyes). They will still live happy lives, they will still find love, and they will still die peacefully. You can't just tell something to go with just cuz' it seems right, especially to those who are generally want to find this God, but do not believe the words of the bible. Faith is a powerful thing, it given inner strength to those who rely on it. I do believe something beyond my knowledge, a god-like behind, my be behind us ever watching, but I do not believe it the man in that book. You can't understand cuz' you do not believe. And that's is fine, believe your reality, and I'll believe mine. With both right.

Tootles :)

The benefit is I get free will and as for proof. There are proof of many things besides Jesus Christ. I have my soul to lose if I take the road of blind faith.

Oh dear, Pascal's wager yet again. The problem with believing in god is that, absent evidence to support such a belief (or to refute it), it is provably useless to do so, and I do not care to waste my time on useless pursuits. On the other hand, if you do science, you can learn useful things -- and that means to be able to make accurate predictions about how things will work. Boeing didn't design the 787 by using any sort of theology.

I have read a book called Extreme Devotional Voices of the Martrys and right now I'm reading Jesus Freaks. There are stories after stories in both books, that when the time came when these people were tortured and put through all kinds of pain, because they would not deny Jesus Christ. These people held strong to their faith in our Lord and Savior.

You are wrong when you say you have nothing to lose. If I was to accept to live my life as a fairy tail for which I knew there was no reality no substance I would be living a lie without dignity and self worth. I would be completely worthless without integrity. And there are so many religions one is just as likely to be the true one as another. So you risk everything by believing the one which you do.
