That phrase, "a friend with benefits" is a slang way of saying "I want to have sex, but I don't want any responsibility. " So, if, 2 people who feel the same way, find each other, that gets them out of the way of the rest of us. I think it's unhealthy. If you enter into this kind of relationship as an adult who really understands the ramifications of this relationship, then the results are your own fault, and you can deal with it.
As a teen, this is not a good choice at all. Who you are as a person is still developing. This kind of non-relationship doesn't allow for genuine human growth, which is the center piece of healthy relationships. Someone who wants this kind of relationship does not want the growth or responsibility, and may not be a trustworthy person. Besides the psychological aspects to this, you might "hook up" with someone who has sexually transmitted diseases, and passes them to you.
You are worth more than that -don't accept less than what you are genuinely worth.

benefits is anything sexual, so yes it is friends with benefits
