After installing V8 of yahoo messenger my PC won't even boot in safe mode!!! the bootup just goes in circles. Gives me the options to boot in safe mode, with networking etc. I am running XP Home on a HP 2.93 gig processor pentium 4 Sometimes the XP boot screen shows the it goes to the options screen. saying that there was a hardware /sortware problem. I know it's messenger !!!!!!! any ideas ppl

If you can boot up to safe mode then first thing is to uninstall that software, doing repair would be complicated unless you know what to repair. And going back to system restore would not guarantee that all of your data be saved, unless you set up restore point prior to installing the software.

Try booting into safe mode with command prompt, if that works then access explorer with the command explorer.exe
then do a system restore. When booting into safe mode it may stop for a few minutes but just wait it out it will eventually boot up. If you can't get into safe mode then try doing a repair with your system disk.

i suggest you contact a computer repair shop and let them fix your computer. don't forget to tell them the PC crashed after you installed mesenger ver. 8.

2 opportunities: one million) Your BIOS can not boot USB. verify for BIOS updates. 2) Your USB stick isn't "bootable". attempt it on yet another gadget to be sure. If it boots on yet another gadget, merchandise one million) above applies.... Win7 via default does not come on a USB stick. somebody would desire to have tried to repeat it or create a bootable image on it....

After you remove Yahoo!® Messenger, please install gaim instead. http://gaim.sourceforge.net/
