It's a strong feeling I've had for a while. Knowing without thinking about it that I will see the beginning.

The fact that there is strife within and among the churches MAY be one of the signs of the end times.

The folks at Family Radio believe the Final Judgment and Second Coming of Christ will be in the fall of 2011.

For example see the book “Time Has an End” on line at:
http://www.timehasanend.org/public/en_time_has_an_end_cont.html

This group, whose primary teacher is one Harold Camping, also believes the Church Age has ended in 1988 and believers are to come out of the churches as they are now under the control of malevolent forces now that the Tribulation has begun. According to this group, this is why there is so much strife between and within church groups. Mr. Camping’s interpretations of the bible are highly allegorical, so let the reader beware.

See the book Time Has an End, Ch. 10:
http://www.timehasanend.org/public/en_time_has_an_end_ch10.html

That said, the online audio lectures at Family Radio, are illuminating and worth a listen:
See: http://worldwide.familyradio.org/zusa/english/connect/audio_archive/echoes/frame/download/download.html

Finally, for the offline version of the Family Radio nightly call in show, where folks ask questions about the bible to Mr. Camping, see:
http://worldwide.familyradio.org/zusa/english/connect/audio_archive/forum/frame/

I am not endorsing Family Radio’s doctrines, but one is able to learn quite a bit by listening to these materials.

Most of what you will read about the end times are pre-millennial views: the view that Christ's return will usher in a future millennium of Messianic rule mentioned in the book of Revelation before the final judgment. The believers of this doctrine also hold to the notion of a Rapture of the righteous beforehand.

Others hold that there will be only one second coming of Christ, at the time of the Final Judgment.

Then there are mixtures involving the views of the seven year tribulation and whether it is happening now, occurs later, etc.

These doctrines all fall under the general heading known as the study of end times, or eschatology.

For explanations of the various eschatological beliefs see: http://www.religioustolerance.org/millenni.htm

I am a Amillennialist. I believe we are currently living in the Millennium and in the Tribulation period. Events described in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 and in most of the book of Revelation have already happened. To me the Antichrist is figurative and not a real person. I believe that the Kingdom of God is today present in the world through the presence of the heavenly reign of Christ, the Bible, the Holy Spirit and Christianity. Both good and evil continues in the world until the current Church Age ends suddenly when Christ returns to the sky above the earth. The Rapture follows. The Redeemed are transported to heaven where they will adopt spiritual bodies. The majority of humanity will be sent to Hell at this time for eternal punishment. The world will be abandoned. History is no more.

I'm quite sure that Christians have been feeling that way for a LONG time.....like, since Christ left the last time.
But yes, I've felt since the late 80's that I would be one of the generation that would see His return. My grandfather says that he's had similar feelings, but was never quite sure....he always felt that he may OR may not see it. I feel 99.9% sure that I WILL see it come to pass in my lifetime. In my mind, I always sort of pictured it happening while I was still relatively young-- before I hit age 50. So according to my own imagination, I believe it will be within the next 20 years or so.

I do not believe that a pre-tribulation "rapture" is biblical because there are just no scriptures that support it. There are only two comings mentioned. The Bible says that when He comes the second time, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord. If there's a secret rapture, how could that happen?

I also believe that we Christians should be preparing to survive a great tribulation "as has never been since the beginning of time." In other words, we should prepare physically and spiritually for the time when we will be persecuted, when we will have to survive cataclysmic disasters, and when we will be unable to buy or sell without taking the mark of the beast. Why would He tell us all this if we didn't need to prepare? That includes planning and building shelter, planning and storing food and other supplies, and being spiritually prepared to be on our own and persecuted during the period of time before His glorious return.

People have been spouting "The End is Near" for 2000 years! Here's a partial list:
-64 when Rome burned
-1096 at the outset of the crusades
-1453 when Constantinople fell to the Muslims
-1492 when the Reconquista was completed
-1945 when the first atomic bomb was dropped
-1967 after Israel won the 6 Days War
-2001 after the World Trade Center attacks
I just don't understand why people don't get the point that even if it does happen, we really have no idea when. So if you're still guessing--knock it off!

If you ever want to read a good book, read a book called
'Hurtling towards oblivion' with a subtitle of 'A logical argument for the end of the age'. It's written by Richard A. Swenson. It is published by Navpress(www.navpress.com). If you wanted to buy it you'd probably have to get it on the internet. This guy is not a Pastor or Prophecy Teacher although he freely admits that he does believe in bible prophecy. Actually, he's a medical doctor. This guy goes through and gives this perfectly logical argument why history was not meant to go on forever and he does it without using a bible verse. His basic argument is that man has inherent evil inside of him and man is also brilliant and that combination of brilliance and evilness will eventually be the doom of mankind. Many secular atheists and agnostics have made that same argument in the past. My only disagreement with them is that I would say that all of that was predicted thousands of years ago in the bible. I could give you many reasons why I believe that the 2nd coming of Christ is right around the corner but I'll let you do your own homework. Go to http://www.livingwaters.com/Merchant2/graphics/tracts/prophecy/index.html

It will give you 101 end time bible prophecies. Get yourself a bible and look up the verses.

It happened in 1914.

(DANIEL 9:25) “And you should know and have the insight [that] from the going forth of [the] word to restore and to rebuild Jerusalem until Mes·si′ah [the] Leader, there will be seven weeks, also sixty-two weeks. She will return and be actually rebuilt, with a public square and moat, but in the straits of the times.”
That word went out in 607 B.C.E. when the Jews were in slavery in babylon.
2,520 years from early October of 607 B.C.E. brings us to early October of 1914 C.E., as shown on the chart.

CALCULATING THE “SEVEN TIMES”
“Seven times” = 7 X 360 = 2,520 years
A Biblical “time,” or year = 12 X 30 days = 360. (Rev. How, then, is the time calculated down to 1914? Counting 11:2, 3; 12:6, 14)
In the fulfillment of the “seven times” each day equals one year. (Ezek. 4:6; Num. 14:34)
Early October, 607 B.C.E., to December 31, 607 B.C.E.= 1/4 year
January 1, 606 B.C.E., to December 31, 1 B.C.E. = 606 years
January 1, 1 C.E., to December 31, 1913 = 1,913 years
January 1, 1914, to early October, 1914 = 3/4 year
Total: 2,520 years

Just look at the condition of the world since 1914.
It was in 1914 that Jesus, as Michael, ejected Satan from heaven.
Revelation 12; 7-9 & 12.

Yes, I believe with all my heart that this will happen soon. About 5 or 6 years ago I walked into our church foyer and I was just waiting to leave, and reading our statement of faith which was hung in a frame on the wall, when I got to the 8th one which was that we believe that Jesus will come back for the church I got a major witness of the Holy Spirit and a very strong knowing that this was the Lord confirming his word.

It was a very powerful experience.

He will be back very soon.

I hope that I will be with Him before that. after all, the Great Tribulation will happen and I won't be here by my reckoning.

If I have the Bible right, any believer that is trusting God through Jesus Christ today will not be here for the Great Tribulation.
