depends on who you talk to. Personally for me, no. i believe that Islam is the last message of God to all mankind. It was sent down upon prophet Muhammad (pbuh), recorded in broad outlines in the Qur'an, and described in detail in the Sunnah. Islam is an Arabic word which means "Submission to God".

That is my faith system. That is my choice. Others choose to choose different and i can respect that when my religious wishes are respected.

I wish to emplore those who do feel this way to read and really study before bashing Islam or any other religion. Its not respectful and not how one human should treat another (and not just going to these anti islamic websites and read the one sided propaganda)

If Islam was a bad religion then why they were many people whose choose Islam as their way of life..?

Some people might see what other people dont see about Islam..These people took Islam literally rather than physically...

Everyone have their own opinion about Islam..their opinion was based on their own understanding about Islam...
With due all respect to the other religions, i have to say that Islam was a perfect religion...
Honestly i feel all religions was good. What make them look bad is the way its own adherent personalize in a real world..

A recent news report from Indonesia said that three members of Jemaar Islamya, supposedly terrorists, have been jailed for the BEHEADING of three CHRISTIAN schoolgirls.
Bad enough that this is, did the judge give them the death sentence..??
No. One got 20 years and the other two got 14 years each.
And all because the judge was told that all three COOPERATED with the authorities.
Actually less time in jail than Chapelle Corby got [ in the same country] for importing [ supposedly] some marijuana.
And not a single word from the Muslim religious leaders.
What value female lives???

I'm a christian but I do have a Islamic friend and based on what I know about her, she is a good person. The Islamic extremists are just bad apples on the tree of Islam.
The majority of Muslims lead a good life(knowing good is good and bad is bad). We can't color all of Islam by what a few brainwashed idiots do or say.

What do you mean by 'bad', and for whom? Islam is good for those who embrace it. Christianity is good for those who believe. Many people don't embrace either. Islam is a religion devised in a certain period of human development for people in a certain area, just like Christianity, but not quite so brutal. Muslims, it seems are prepared to die for their religion, whereas Christians, and Jews, are only prepared to kill for theirs.

Islam, like any religion, is as bad or good as its follower wants it to be. Islam, like Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, etc..., etc... teaches us to be good to ourselves and our fellow humans. It really, actually does.

You should no more assume a member of the Aryan Right or the KKK is a concise example of Christianity than an Islamic terrorist is an a representation of the vast majority of Muslims.

Islam can be a beautiful religion. One of the reasons that the Koran is so hard to translate is because it is written in verse. It's poetry. It's all but impossible to translate poetry without losing meaning in order to keep it readable.

"Jihad", for example, most closely translates to "holy war." What it truly means is to engage in a battle within oneself to find the true meaning of ones religion. What it actually does not mean is to cause harm to Allah's children simply for not sharing the same beliefs (and "Allah" is the same as "God").

What is going on now is the same as The Crusades. We simply have terrorists and presidents instead of Grand Inquisitors and Knights Templar.

Now we are, just as then, letting the extremists of both religions determine our lives as well as those that we have allowed ourselves to be blinded into thinking our enemies. They make the most noise, after all.

Islam has the same basic teachings as Christianity and Judaism. In fact, it has the same basic teachings as any religion: Be true, honest, and good with yourself and others.

It's easy to find the ways in which any religion teaches hatred of those who are different. It is the true nature of faith to find that which we have in common.

I'm agnostic and I have faith in the goodness of all religions. I believe it is vastly more important, for all of humanity, to try to work together and understand each other than it is to destroy that which we don't agree with. I have seen nothing in any religion that would suggest other wise.

No it is misunderstood by those who dont want to learn about it and feared by those who only listen to bits and pieces. Islam is a very peaceful religion, its people who take their own twist and radicalize it that damage it.

define bad. how bad is bad? i don't have the grounds to say that islam is a bad religion but i would want to speak the language of truth and that is jesus christ is the only way, truth, and life, the only way for us to be saved, the only god, and the only lord and saviour. peace out and god bless! =)

i know a little of Islam and i think that it's theology is more believable and tolerant than mainstream Christianity is. however i think that the regions that Islam is generally found tends to be a lower socio-economic society in a harsher more unforgiving environment. could be people are making a connection when they shouldn't be

If you are of another religion then yes. I believe it is an incorrect religion, but is it any worse than any other religion if I believe that other religion to also be incorrect? No. Some have taken Islam out of its original context (radicals) and made it a very bad religion, but the same happened to Christianity (which is my personal belief) during the Crusades where the Catholic church went on it's own form of "holy war".

It is not the religion itself that is to blame for the behavior of a few that have taken it and twisted it to match their own agenda.

whether one religion is better than another is up to the individuals decision as to what they believe truth is, but no one religion is worse than any other merely because someone else decides to disagree.

I footnote this with the fact that I do see Islam as a false religion and Christianity as a worship of the one true God who sent us a savior in Jesus who died for our sins that we might have eternal life. This does not change the fact though that others have the right to disagree, and Islam (in it's normal non-"jihadic" form) is not any more destructive than Christianity.

footnote - And I resent all of the people that did not take the time to read out this entire post, which was thought out very carefully and just voted no because they are Islamic. I am a Christian and so yes I view Islam as being false, but it is because my belief leaves me no other choice because Jesus said that "I am the way and the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father but through me."
I answered the question by saying that Islam is no worse than any other religion, and so you should really think about the content of a post before you vote it down based on your religious affiliation.
