I've only had one boyfriend (it lasted for four years, but ended terribly), and a few dates here and there, but nobody's really been interested in me nor I by them. I'm 25 and starting to feel like I'm going to end up being one of those old ladies with the condos that smell like cat poo.;)

Believe it or not, I was 13! And of course, everyone kept telling me it was "puppy love" but this feeling never went away and as soon as I was out of high school we were married. Sadly, he was killed in a motorcycle accident right after we had our 5 year anniversary. On one hand I feel lucky to have experienced that "the one" that you speak of, and on another, I wonder if we had been older and more mature would it have been better. We had many hardships from being so young and had a child at young ages. Wow, I'm only 38..but feel so much older..and have yet to meet that special one that takes my breath away again. But, I have been in a few relationships that were pretty awesome in their own ways. I'm finding that loving myself first is most important..if we're not happy with ourselves, we will never be able to be truly happy with someone else. I used to worry about the same thing(becoming an old cat lady)...but just learning to love myself because ultimately you are the only one you can always count on to be there no matter what...has helped take alot of that stress off and enabled me to relax more and enjoy life. Seems that everytime I'm really happy by myself is when I meet someone else and maybe that's because people can sense it when you are confident and not "searching". I've seen lots of guys run in the opposite direction from some of the girls I know because the girls are so ready for a serious relationship so much sooner. I'm not saying this is how you are at all! I guess I'm trying to say that guys are more attracted to women when they sense that they are happy, mature and confident...I've even heard guys say that this is more appealing to them than for a girl to be drop dead georgous...they seem to just sense the confidence..although some guys are intimidated by this. But a guy that is mature respects this and knows that you have something inside that shines much brighter than just what they see on the surface. 25 may not seem as young to you as it does to me...I'm 38..still young(hehe),but looking back..I wish now that at 25 that I would have learned to just relax and love myself first and foremost..it sure would have saved me from alot of heartaches from jumping into relationships because I thought that that's what I was supposed to do. Now, I would focus on you...finding out what your true desires are for the future and have fun while doing it! Please don't worry that you have to hurry...before you know it, you'll meet someone and forget all about asking this question! Good luck to you..and just enjoy life to the fullest...even if you are alone right now..that's o.k.

Don't be so down, cheer up. You won't be alone and shld be happy. There is no such thing as "the one". We weren't born for one another, we just have to make it work ourself and if it doesn't then move on. 25 ain't that old, so stop worrying. Am sure someone nice will be with u someday, perhaps me? lol!

I was 34 and a half when lightening finally struck, and I experienced the love-at-first-sight I always dreamed of. I was worried my time was surely up too, but just when I was not looking, as they say, my glance fell on a complete starnger, and my whole world changed... You're 25!!!! You've got plenty of time!!!!!! :)

i was 12. we had a few glorious years together.....i really loved him to bits. he was a really decent person, quite shy and totally brilliant. i have never met anyone like that before, and probably will not again.

then, he died.

i tried, but no one could warm my heart the way he did.

so, after a few failed dates, i stopped trying to replace him.
