Please understand the fallacy of your logic.

The hospital's sub-par performance does not excuse you from payment of services rendered.

The services they rendered, though below world-class standards, has a fair economic value. To fail to pay the fair economic value of services rendered is tantamount to fraud.

Perhaps you can talk with the Customer Service Department or even the Head of the Hospital about your complaint(s) and maybe they will reduce the charges by 30-40%.

Just remember that everything in life is negotiable for the "squeaky wheel".

However, looking for uncanny ways to avoid paying a hospital bill altogether smacks of extreme selfishness and self-serving behavior.

You are a better person than that.

Of course you can. It's YOUR name. If it's misspelled then tell them to correct it. Simple as that. =)

You don't have to pay for the hospital's mistake. I'm not sure who's telling you that you'd have to, but you don't; again, it's THEIR mistake, not yours.

Ask to speak to the hospital's legal staff if you need to because it sounds to me like you're being duped.
