I'm so glad someone else finally acknowledged this problem. I'm so sick and tired of hearing about, "Do you think he likes me he walked by me and looked at me, twice, and I could see it in his eyes," and whatever, whatever. I think that our ages should be displayed along with our avatar.

I have to agree with you. You can definitely tell Spring Break is over! At first I thought YA should have these same categories but for different age groups so more mature thinking people could answer without wading through so much crap. Then I thought of some questions I've answered from young people who actually did give their ages and had valid problems that only an adult could respond to with knowledge and experience. It's just so frustrating to read questions like "do you think so-and-so is cute?" or the ones that really get me is how do I get a 12-year old boy to like me.
I have to agree with you, I guess, about specifiying ages. But, do we require this of only those under 18 or do we make it mandatory for everyone? I don't mind admitting I'm 56 (at least not on YA where no one knows me!). I saw one answer tonight from a gentleman who admitted he was 62. He gave the best advice for dealing with young feelings. So, again there's that dilemma.
When things get really bad on here I stop answering questions and go to my favorite categories to vote. It's only 1 pt. but it's better than wasting time on junk. The best part is when all the answers are so pathetic you can click on "No Best Answer". You don't get points, but it can be so satisfying!

Yeah I feel like that sometimes. Can be very frustrating. You can tell by the tongue in cheek answers. While some questions are so bad they deserve this, sometimes there is just no time or place.
There needs to be a way to split the age groups.
Young teens 10-15 Teens 15-18 Young Adult 18-24 & 25+
And for certain areas there could be open forums.
People really just need to respect the site, and not treat it as a joke

Unfortunately, kids have lots of free time to waste on giving useless answers or comments. The singles section should really be a helpful source of opinions and experience for adults. Instead it's a kids-and-teenagers' hotline for crude and lewd interaction. Specifying an age group is almost the only way to limit the kinds of answers you get. On the other hand..."OMG"? How old are YOU, anyway?

Isn't that funny, grade school kids answering questions for adults.
Actually many kids, not necessarily the little ones, but teenagers(with brains) can answer many questions for adults.
I'm 16, I get best answer all the time, correlation here? But keep in mind that recreational use of the Internet is mainly done by teens because we have time to kill. Adults have time to ask questions, but answering can take more time. Kids also want to share their knowledge cause, well its fun. Adults do it so they look smart and can go to sleep with a warm fuzzy feeling.
But as long as the answer is good, it doesn't matter how old the Yahoo! Answers users are.

It can be annoying, but bad answers can come from people of all ages, as well as good ones. To prejudge an answer because of someone's age is not right. You should judge an answer only on its contents.
I do however have to admit that all of the elementary boyfriend/girlfriend questions get more than annoying on here. Something should be done about it (filtering it out for those of us not interested).

There should be a yahoo answers for different age groups. I agree. A ten year old boy answered my question once... I was thinking, what does this kid know about love.

yeah i've noticed that too - i'm in my twenties and i need "real" advice - no offense - maybe someone who's also in my twenties or older because thay can fully grasp and understand my situation better...no offense but i don't feel like yahoo answers is to my benefit when the answers i'm getting are from kids in middle school - maybe you should email the moderator and ask them to divide the "singles and dating" sections with "teeny bopper/high school" and "adult" and "older adult"...you can have a petition and we'll all sign it dude - I FEEL YOUR PAIN! :)

The best thing to do is always answer question respectfully, regardless of wether there are kids on here or not you should not be asking questions that are dis-respectful or answering questions dis-respectful for that matter. You are only 18 you are a child yourself.
