I was diagnosed with endomietriosis not long after the birth of my 1st child. Mind you, he was concieved on the pill. My pregnancy with him I had a lot of unexplained pain, which is when they found it was caused by the endo after he wass born by electice caesar for unrelated issues. But my endomietriosis went down hill very quickly once I was diagnosed. I had a laparoscophy and had it all burnt and cut off in order to concieve my 2nd child. This worked really well and we concieved in the 2nd month of trying. Same sort of pregnancy, more pain. The delivery went well, natural birth and very healthy baby. Number 3 took 11 long, hard months to concieve but we got there. I haemmoraged at 36 weeks, they don't know why so I don't know if it was related or not. I had an emergancy caesar but he was very healthy.
It certainly does make the journey a lot harder than usual, but with proper management you can have the family you desire. Never loose hope. Good luck to you!

Hi, I was diagnosed with endometriosis when I was 19 (I'm now 35) I had an aggressive type and it did a lot of damage to my reproductive organs as well as the bowel and bladder.
I had many operations and took every drug they had to try to alleviate the symptoms and help me conceive.
Nothing really made any difference...
to cut a LONG story short: In '95 I had 'last resort' microsurgery and a course of 'Zoladex'..Then when I came round after the op. The specialist told me that they've done all they can but the damage was too great and I would NEVER conceive.
I conceived my first child right after the op.. He's now 10!
My second baby I gave birth to (with no medical interception to conceive) in '98
11 months after he was born 'SHOCK' I had a baby girl!!!
I suffered a miscarriage at 5 wks in '02.
In Feb '06 I gave birth to my last baby (a girl) while on the waiting list for a hysterectomy!
SO MUCH for NEVER conceiving eh??!!
All pregnancies were straightforward (unbelievably) and births uncomplicated.
I would have another baby tomorrow if I could!
My sister had endometriosis, and had to have an emergency hysterectomy (she nearly bled to death following a ruptured cyst which burst the ovary) she has no children.
The 'Specialists' were DEAD wrong for me anyway...

The extent of endometriosis is very important as far as your question goes.. I had mild case and had three children within 11 months (a singleton followed by twins 11 months later) with no help whatsoever unless you count their dad's contribution...LOL...
But I know that an extreme case of the travellin' junk can render a woman sterile for all intents and purposes. Endometriosis can be killed by cauterization (requires surgery) and tubes can be opened during surgery for that purpose, IF you catch it early enough in the growth process. My deliveries were normal and the pregnancies were somewhat uneventful, but to be honest, I had my kids at a young age and only found out I had endometriosis a few years later.
I work in surgery and see "old" endometriosis that has "died" (is not proliferating) much more than I see active endometriosis.
See a specialist if you are trying to conceive; do not count on endometriosis to protect you if you are trying to avoid pregnancy!

Ok, I don't want to scare you, but my sister-in-law conceived with that. She had her baby 6 weeks early and unfortunately he passed away at 9 months. Now, I do not know if that was the problem, no one really knows. She had a lot of stuff going on when she was pregnant with him. But her oldest kid turned out just fine.
