It would only mean he is absolutely absorbed in his conversation with you and that you are really a joy to engage with.
Such steadfast concentration (where I deem as total respect for the other party) is seriously lacking these days. Enjoy such great conversations and bask in the companionship of this friend.

Well he isn't flirting, &he is talking normally, so as i can gather, he is just maitaning serious eye contact, he is just really concerntrating on what u saying.
If u want to know if he could be hiding feelings from u, flirt &see what the reaction is.

It just makes eye contact because he wants you to know that he's paying attention to you, and what you are talking.
