Can make the constipated and "hard to make doo-doo" if they eat too many of them like they are tropical Fruit "Starburst" candies.

Solutions to the problem after the fact: Hot baths and for Kaopectate.

Tums really shouldn't bother children. If they are sick to their stomach, it's okay to give them Tums. Tums are also recommended when pregnant women are nauseous and/or have heartburn. The reason for that is because Tums contains Calcium, and it not only helps the heartburn in pregnant women, but also helps their calcium level.

It will only constipate a child IF they take too many of them. It will do the same to an adult as well.

It's certainly a better answer than putting children on adult meds like Prilosec or Prevacid. The doctor did that with my grandchildren and I was really UPset. I don't take anything anymore. The less meds, OTC or script, the better. Our liver has to process all that stuff. So, if a child needs a Tum, it's okay...just not in excess. Don't do 'hot bath' and Kayopectate. It'll do nothing. Kayopectate is for Diarrhea, not constipation.
