My boyfriend did the insensitive thing and rolled his eyes at me when I started to cry because he hurt me. It filled me with a horrible rage, and I slapped him across the face. He ran out and broke it off with me. Was I completely out of line, or is physical abuse different when it comes to hitting men rather than women?

This was physical abuse, you towards him. STOP It! Please apologize to him immediately. You were completely out of line. Would it be okay for a man to slap a woman No. So, hterefore, the reverse is true too, it is not okay for a woman to slap a man. He was right to break it off with you. Physical abuse, by law, is not gender baised. In other words, it's equal. Reality says, guys don't hit gals, and gals don't hit guys. Plain and simple. Take care.

is physical abuse justifiable at all? there is no reason you should hit your significant other. that sends a horrible message to your relationship in the future. how is physical abuse different when the tables are turned? you think guys enjoy it? if you got so upset you should have been the one to walk away. how did you even come o think that slapping him was going to make things better?

If your with a guy that you feels need to be slapped well what are you doing to yourself He is insensitive anyway one for hurting you and two for not caring that you were hurting.Its good he left you don't need that however you should keep your hands to yourself cause I'm sure you wouldn't like it

Yes, you were out of line. No, physical abuse does not depend on which gender; it's equally wrong for both genders. As you've just learned, hitting doesn't solve anything.

its not different men shouldnt slap women and women shouldnt slap men why bring physical abuse in your relationship i think that was a dumb reason to slap him in the first place.

oh yeah maybe you went over the limit I always told myself once a man or a woman slap each other that they are boyfriend and girlfriend that when they get married it get worse men take that personal so I would not be surprise if you don't see your boyfriend again

its wrong for either one of you to hit each other. what you did was wrong and i would of done the same thing if someone hit me. you need to get help with anger management if this persists as you cannot have a good relationship if you continue to use violence as an answer.
