Water in the ears (much like swimmer's ear in people), or overly aggressive cleaning of the ears with hydrogen peroxide, can as well create a good environment for bacteria and yeast to grow. If at home remedies for ear cleaning are preferred, the best mixture to reach for is white vinegar in water as a 50/50 mixture. The vinegar acts to break down the wax in the ear, and creates a pH in the ear which prohibits the growth of bacteria and yeast.
got it from vet4petz.com Hope it helps.

Most certainly NO Tylenol. I read that advice and cringed. Do not give your pet ANY people medicine without a vet's approval. Even baby Tylenol may be a deadly dosage.
I'm also leery of homoeopathic medications. It's one thing for people. Even in homoeopathic meds there's a lot more research, even if anecdotal. Also you are, then, only responsible for yourself in choosing that method.
It's just a few hours. I really do know how hard it is to wait while your pet suffers. Understand, though, they aren't as sensitive to pain as we are. Something that would cause us great discomfort isn't as bad to them.
In this the only exception I would think of is if she was having trouble peeing. Then I'd call each and every vet in a 30 mile radius to find one that does overnight emergencies.
The best thing to do is to wait until tomorrow. It really isn't that long and she really will be ok. You run the risk of doing more harm by trying to treat it yourself, even if just to ease her discomfort.
If you are really worried enough to do something now call your vet and every other one in your area. There will be one available for emergency matters. Also, they can give you better advice if they don't feel it is an emergency.

You can clean your cats ear with a damp cotton ball or tissue. This will help remove some of the infectious debris. Do not use Q-tips unless you are a professional because you could rupture her eardrum. You should also not use any ear cleaner solutions in case the eardrum is already ruptured. This can be toxic to the middle and inner ear. If you do a gentle cleaning she will feel better until you can see your veterinarian tomorrow. BTW Don't give Tylenol as the 1st answerer suggested, it is toxic to cats and can kill them. Good luck.

More than likely ear mites or a fungal infection. Half warm water and half white vinegar in the ear is the safest thing. If it is mites the vet will give you drops for it. Mites can spread to other cats, make sure you check any other cats in the house.

of direction there is a few thing incorrect with him - a healthful cat should not be throwing up all his nutrition on a daily basis. you quite would desire to take him to a vet to get appeared at. regardless of if he remains getting adequate nutrition and has no different issues, he would desire to get scarring in his esophagus. yet once you would be unable to attend to to pay for the vet, or want to place it off as long as plausible, first attempt switching him to a nutrition that doesn't incorporate any grain or corn. Cats would nicely be allergic to it, and besides in nature no cat is going to be eating that stuff. it would desire to be confusing to locate nutrition like that on the prevalent food market, yet puppy grant shops would have it - in case you're in the united states of a glance at Petco or Petsmart case in point. I feed my cat a nutrition like this, the kind is wellbeing, this is obtainable the two as dry and moist. There are different comparable manufacturers.

It sounds like an abscess. When my cat gets an ear infection or abscess and I can't get him to a Vet right away, I put Triple Anti-biotic ointment in and around his ear. It's painful to them so they fight you touching the area but short of the Vet, do this for her and it will help til you can get her in. Poor little thing, good luck.

It's probably better not to touch it at all as anything you do at this point could make it worse or make it difficult for the vet to make a correct diagnosis. Just make sure she's comfortable in a quiet, dark area and isn't disturbed too much. Tomorrow is going to be a stressful day for her so try to keep things calm and quiet and just leave her alone as much as possible.

clean the outside with hydrogen Proxide. The smell is due to infection - If there is a cut or something then put neosporin on it, its safe for cats.. just dont put alot on it.
Hope the kitty feels better soon.

well you can try salvon that will keep it clean. I would not try to use any pain killers or you may give him /her the wrong thing. If you can get that use salt water just keep it clean and let the air get to it.Good luck.
