Yes. Your nasal sinuses connect to your ears and your eyes. You know how you can pinch your nose and "pop" your ears? It's because the air pressure is let out, a little, through your ears. I can actually blow air out of my left tear duct if I try hard enough. Pops my ears too much, though ;-)

When your sinuses get all filled with mucus it can come out your nose in the form of sneezes and a running nose, drip into your throat and cause you to cough, plug up your ears (via the Eustachian tube, if you want a nice 50 cent word), and, even, force tears out of your eyes making your eyes water.

A simple decongestant should take care of it (ala sudafed). It is a good idea to take a decongestant if your ears are plugged up even if you don't like medications for holistic reasons. When your ears are all backed up like that it can open the door for an infection. Trust me, ear infections hurt more than the worst headache you've ever had. They will also require an antibiotic and a trip to the doc to clear up. Better a sudafed now then a lot of pain, a visit to the doc, an antibiotic and, possibly (if you're a girl) a yeast infection, to boot (from the antibiotic killing off all the normal bacteria down there. Even the bad ones are good because they help balance the fungi).

Its common to have clogged ears with a runny nose. If you have allergies or sinus problems then that can and will happen. You might want to see an ENT as the ear nose and throat are all connected. Also doing a salt and water mix is helpful. Although I would not plug one side of your nose when you do it. When you do the salt and water mix. Leave your mouth and both nostroils open. Hope this helps.

Good Luck!

Yes, especially if you have too much nasal discharges. The ear is connected to the pharynx and nasal passageway via eustachian tube. This tube function as ventilation and drainage. Any discharges and secretion within the nasal cavity if profuse will backflow towards the ear. If left untreated, patient suffers from ear infection as well called Otitis Media and also from pharyngitis. Have a check up with ENT specialist

Your ears nose and throat are all connected. It is normal. It is called congestion.

To help you want to kill the bacteria.
This is disgusting but works well:
1/4 teaspoon salt with 1/2 cup water, mix well
plug one nostril
sniff water mix up other nostril and spit through mouth

Hope this helps!

Yes. As they are all connected (ears, nose and throat) fluid can travel through all of them. See your DR if it gets worse or painful.
