The "lunar" month- is the period between Full Moons (about 29 & 1/4 days), and most calendar months are about 30 or 31 days. Because they don't quite "mesh" exactly, the lunar month tends to come a day or two earlier- every calendar month (So what's the big deal? Well, for one thing- most women's Periods follow the lunar month, & so do the Oceans tides, and many spawning cycles, & etc.).

A lunar month is four 7 day weeks or 28 days. A calender month could be from 28 to 31 days. It is just the days in that specific named month like Jan. or May.

A lunar month depends soley on the moon, whereas a calendar month is either 30 or 31 days regardless of what the moon is doing. (with the exception of Febuary of course.)
