We need need to choose a "Money Dance" or "Dollar Dance" song for our wedding. Which of these do you like? Do you have any other suggestions? I would like a fun song but my fiance would like a slow song. We will have a mixture of older conservative folks and some redneck types at the reception. I would some us up as a good, clean fun-loving crowd.

"Friends in Low Places" Garth Brooks
"You've Got a Friend" James Taylor
"With a Little Help From My Friends" The Beatles
"Amen Kind of Love" Daryle Singletary
"Take the Money and Run" Steve Miller Band
"Money" Pink Floyd
"Kiss Me" Six Pence None the Richer
"Have You Really Ever Loved a Woman" Bryan Adams
"I Just Want to Dance With You" George Strait
"Margaritaville" Jimmy Buffet
"Baby I Love Your Way" Peter Frampton
"Two Tickets to Paradise" Eddie Money
"Forever and Ever Amen" Randy Travis
"Love Will Keep Us Alive" The Eagles

Definitely appropriate would be the Beatles song, With a little help from my friends, after all that is really the way it is. so Congratulations to both. Oh, two tickets to paradise could be cool too.....and if you want the to the point one....money by Pink Floyd....depends on the crowd.....lots of luck to you both.

I love your song lineup. Depending on how many people you've got coming to the reception, you can probably dance with five people per song without seeming rushed for longer songs, but only three for shorter songs. Your entire list covers just over fifty people, and since it's easier to add more songs than it is to fill in empty dance slots, I'd make sure to have Less songs than you think you need.

Have an old fashioned dance card, where people can sign up for "their" song, with between three and five dance entries per song. Make sure to have dance cards with the song name and the dance numbers that can be handed out when the person signs your dance card (a pack of business card blanks from the office supply store, hand filled out work fine).

This works on many levels, since once your card is filled out, you can Add songs if you need to (if all of the dance slots fill up early). Besides, I'm sure that the father of the bride would like to buy an entire song, as will many others, and this gives them the chance (make sure priority people get first pick of the songs for just this reason).

Don't leave the groom out of the fun. He should have his own dance card, coordinated so that the bride and groom are both dancing at the same time.

(You can even sneak in buying a dance off each other somewhere in the middle just to give you both a breather. It's usually greeted with an "aww" or a laugh, but either way it's still in the fun spirit).

Unless you have a small crowd you should be able to use a few of the songs that you both like. I always thought dollar/money dances were danced to slower songs. It may be difficult for an older person to dance with you if the songs have a faster beat which may discourage some from doing the dollar dance. Just a thought.

Really, I just want to throw in my two cents about the money dance.

Money dances, on the up side, give you an opportunity to spend a few minutes with each guest, which is nice....But the reality of them is that they bring the party that is your wedding reception to a screeching, grinding halt. People get bored with these, and they get bored quickly, and this is when people tend to leave receptions - during the break in the "action." These are pretty common where I live, and it never fails. As soon as they start, guests head for the door.

Depending on the mood you have set for your reception, it's something to consider. Again, I certainly don't want to tell you how to plan your weddding reception, but please at least think about it.

The best song you'll like is

'For the Love of Money' By the OJays.

1. go to google and type in 'Tower Records'
2. type in The Ojays
3. go to The Greatest Hits,,by The Ojays
4. you can listen to the first 10 seconds of the song.
Good luck

Another song I like is by Stevie Wonder's
'I just call to say I love you' I think it will make a good wedding song

God Bless

Just to let you know. The money dance doesn't last just one song. I would definitely leave it up to the DJ. We stressed about it and the money dance ended up going on for over 10 minutes. Before the wedding reception we had told the DJ to just wing it. It definitely turned out WAY better than expected. We loved it.

"When a Man Loves a Woman" from the Andy Garcia/Meg Ryan movie with the same name, I believe Percy Sledge is the singer! It's such a beautiful song for a beautiful occasion! I think that everyone would definitely enjoy that song!!

Just a note, depending on the size of your wedding you may actually need to pick 2-3 songs, if not more.
