I see people bash christians to death pretty much with their hateful words, and i am not looking for sympathy, but I am really confused at how much faster people will lash out a christians before muslim extremists who murder in the name of allah, before murderers who rape and kill people, often time children; of racists, and pretty much everything else bad in the world.

There are millions upon millions of chirstians being murdered for their faith in the sudan, but all I hear over here is how horrible and crazy christians are.

What bad have are we causing you and who have we killed.

What have we done to you? Be honest please.

so no car bombs, or limb amputation? I here alot of you saying christians and then blind faith, as if we are the only religion with faith involved.

My sister and I were talking about this in the car so that's is why i asked the question.

So there really is no reason other than someone telling you you are wrong are that you are going to hell, which if it were so ridiculous you probably just laughed off anyways.

I'm glad it's nothing really bad though

In elementary school, Christians taught me to beg for money.

In middle school, I had a preacher steal my money, hit me, then throw me out of his church.

In high school, I was repeatedly "condemned to Hell".

In college, a Christian co-worker tried on numerous occasions to entice me to commit adultery.

In my adult life, Christians have repeatedly tried to use the Bible to justify dictating what I do and who I do it with (this IS on a personal level, not a political one).

Well, you already know that I am Christian so my answer will be from that point of view.

First and foremost our president is a Christian and so every thing that he does is blamed on that fact. Of course, every other president has been a Christian but no matter the facts in their thinking. And the funny thing about that to me is that President Bush is way to far toward the center for me. But maybe that is just me.

One must remember the goal of Christian bashers, in general. They do not want to destroy the Christian churches, at least not most of them. If you look inside the arguments that they pose you can see that that they know there are to many believers in our country for them to think that they can get us to not believe. What their real goal is, is to, force change, install a new set of morals, force the Christians to accept their ideas. Like homosexuality. Most homosexuals want to force the churches to accept them. Another words, make homosexuality "normal." To force the churches to accept the position of "pro-choice." This is being attempted
though arguments like: we are not tolerant, we are not for "free will", we should accept sex outside of marriage as a normal thing. And, of course, the ever present idea that what some Christians did hundreds of years ago is somehow relevant today. And, of course, that religions are the cause of all wars, which is a very lame argument and only shows how little they understand the history of war.

And never do they bring up the fact that, we the people of the USA, mostly Christian, rose up against two of the most terrible powers to ever be on this earth and defeated them. Hundreds of thousands of Christians died to save all of the world from Hitler and the Japanese. I often wonder how the world would have been if we did not do that. Of course, that fact is in the Christian bashers face and they refuse to accept it. But it will never change.

And, surely, then you have the evolutionists that claim superior intelligence because they say science proves religion wrong. This fact is evident all the time in their Christian bashing questions. And it is amazing to me that so many accept a theory as a fact, when even the scientists that study evolution still call it a theory. But this is not a new thing really, all of history shows that people have come forward believing they are smarter then God many times.

Our founding fathers set up a government that was based in Christian values and morals, yet today many of them refuse to believe that. But that fact is a plain as any fact can be. But you don't see these anti-christians saying that they shouldn't get Christmas day off with pay. Even Jews don't do that either. Or that Sunday is just another day and should be treated that way. No, they want the sabbath off to. And the really funny thing to me is how when they incite us and when some of us fight back then we are not being good Christians, that is just hilarious. So they think they can say anything and everything they want but, WE, must be good Christians, ha-ha,ha.

So what have we done to them? Nothing.

I don't bash Christians, but I can tell you some things that they are doing that I don't like.

Abortion may be wrong, it may not be. There are some Christians, though, who want to be able to make that decision for everyone, whereas I believe it should be an individual's decision.

Intelligent Design/Creationism is not science, yet there are some Christians who want it to be taught in science classrooms. This is a disservice to students, and it threatens to undermine scientific inquiry as a whole.

There are some Christians who advocate censorship. If I want to read Henry Miller, listen to Howard Stern, or watch an NC-17 movie, I believe that as an adult, I should be able to do so.

If I told my Christian boss that I am agnostic it would adversely affect my career. I don't treat any of the people who work for me differently based on what they believe.

Wars are being fought and people killed over religion. I think this is wrong.

Stem cell research is not being funded by the United States because some Christians believe that it is morally wrong to create cells for the purpose of experimentation, despite the fact that it could save millions of lives and cure many diseases. I think that a potential life is worth less than an actual one.

All of these things effect me personally in one way or another.

I don't bash anyone unless they spew hate. Then I just say what's on my mind and move on. Personally, I've had a few Christians (and other so called religious folks) tell me I'm going to burn in hell or that I'm a bad person. I don't blame all Christians for that. Not all are over zealous, book burning morons. There's a few bad apples in every bunch. Those bad apples are enough to create a stigma that punishes the group as a whole.

People should pretty much expect to be bashed for one thing or another. If it's not religion, it's race. If it's not race, it's sex or sexual preference. We've all got our cross to bear and no one is more victimitized than anyone else really. It's the cool thing to do to bash Christians on here because alot of them do set themselves up for it. Some questions are just out there and totally bananas. It's hard not to mock someone who is condemning any and everyone who doesn't agree with them but, that can be said about anyone who is extreme to the point of lunacy about their beliefs. We're all targets at some point so either learn to live with it and be secure or, go insane trying to figure out why people who don't know you, don't like you for something as petty as religion. That's their big issue, not yours.

I will answer this question from a more philosophical viewpoint. When there is a group - be it a religion, race, nation - that is the majority and/or in power, there will be much hatred and criticism for that group. Christianity is a major religion in the world and representative to people of much more than just a faith. I believe that is the reason that so many are so quick to bash Christians.

Please note, I'm not Christian myself, nor am I trying to paint a picture of Christianity being a perfect religion that has harmed none and helped all. I am simply looking at this from an unbiased viewpoint.

Rammed their nonsense down my throat. And the fundamentalists / creationists are the worst. Trying to make us believe in the biggest load of nonsense i have ever read in a book. However the Muslim extremists are no different. There spacial law throws the evolution of human society back into the dark ages.

And you cannot avoid the history of Christianity - its massacred millions too. Catholics are christians

And in the end - what for - just a book written 2000 years ago, just to control a small - non-disrupt nation under the roman empire. It would not have been anything but a minor cult if one of the emperors had not had trouble controlling his people at the time.

And now a bunch of them from the south of the new Rome want to do the same as the F Muslims. They are even taking over our schools and forcing their nonscence down our childrens thoats.

WHEN WILL WE EVER LEARN

We are informed to Baptize within the title of the Father Son and Holy Spirit within the New Testament. The Trinity didn't "evolve" out of nowhere a few 325 years later. The Doctrine was once clarified round 325 given that a few persons had been denying the doctrine at the moment. It is likely one of the matters that outline Christianity. Those that don't consider within the Trinity don't seem to be Christians. That's why Jehovah's Witnesses don't seem to be Christians. They do not consider within the Trinity or the Divinity of Jesus. If you persevere on this perception you're not a Christian.

Do you seriously think that christianity is an innocent religion and no one has ever died because of it. If so, go back to school and learn some history.

Secondly, what have Christians done to me personally.
Bug me in the street when I am doing my shopping trying to spread the word, collect money etc.
Come to my house to do the above.
Tell me how I am going straight to Hell because I am an Atheist.
Tell me how I am emotionally, morally, mentally, ethically and spiritually defective because I am an Atheist.
For trying to censor what I can watch, what I can read, what I can do.
For saying that because I don't follow God's laws that I am a criminal, who has no issue with beating up little old ladies for their pension money.

That is just a few things they have done to me personally. there is a whole heap more that has been done against the world.

All Christians have done for me is confirm their willingness to believe anything. Even when Newton's laws of physics, which have been a constant throughout the entire rest of the universe, were turned (supposedly) upside down 2000 years ago with one man, I am still amazed at the blind faith of religious people.

Do you NEED to be told what to think? If you believe everything in the bible, apparently you do. I prefer to make up my own mind about things. Trust me, once you're dead, NO one will be bringing your bag of bones back to life.

What really bugs me is when Christians INSIST the things like the resurrection are literally true! Most of the stories in the bible were never meant to be taken literally. They were written for the "moral of the story" or as tools to teach children about life.

No other religion proselytizes quite as much as Christianity. If I want to know about the religion, LET ME ASK! Don't preach to me as if I'm some sort of low life because I don't think Jesus was divine. And for heaven's sake, stop telling me the world is coming to an end! That thinking has been going on even before Jesus came along and yet here we are.

Been accused of being a cult member and a closet homosexual. Told I was not fit to speak about religion. Passed over for certain jobs. Frozen out of certain social, educational, religious and monetary opportunities and certain loops of information.

Without going into great detail these are some things people claiming to be Christians have done in relation to me --
and I am a Christian!!!!
