God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply. They lived to be over 900 years old. There is no indication in the bible of how much time passed or how many other children Adam and Eve had prior to the story of Cain and Abel.

Regardless of what some people might think, there is not an inconsistency with this account in the Bible. Actually, we are told that there were others who were born to Adam and Eve -- not just Cain, Abel and Seth. The Bible only chooses to follow the lines of these three. (For information as to why the Bible only chooses to follow the lines of these three men, contact me)
Also, we are not told how old these men were when all of this happened, but we are told that Seth lived to be 912 years old. We do not know how old Cain lived to, but it is believed to be somewhere close. (And for those "naysayers" that have something to say about the lengths of their lives, remember that a couple of years ago, scientist found the Methuselah gene.)
In all of those years, a lot of children can be born and families started. It would not be a stretch of the imagination that those who came out of those lines would be the ones of whom the Bible talks about.

i am impressed. there was other people. and Cain took a wife from the town of Nod. I believe he name was Lilith. those OTHER people were created on the sixth day. Adam and Eve are considered as the eighth day creation. Now that's what i call READING THE BIBLE

Adam and Eve were commanded by God to be fruitful and multiply. He was not giving them math homework - He told them to go make a bunch of babies. They lived over 800 years.... making babies.... lots of them. Cain married a sister or a niece. There were LOTS of relatives running around - many probably heard the story of what he had done. I would have worried that someone would be thinking revenge too.

The Bible doesn't say that God didn't create other people after Adam and Eve. I think that He did.

Adam and Eve had many, many children. They in turn had many, many children. They each lived a very long time. Cain married his sister most likely.
There is no inconsistency.

That's just a couple out of many errors and contradictions found in the flawed, man-made Bible.

Perhaps there were other groups of hominids existing also. God made animals AFTER THEIR KIND, perhaps implying that other similar animals had existed before. Perhaps man was made physically AFTER HIS KIND also, implying that other similar men had existed before. The main difference would be that the Adam - Man was also made in the image of God, that is having a spirit.
