I got some cooked dungeness crab (a whole bunch), it took me 4 days to shuck it all. The legs stayed in the fridge for the 4 days until I shucked them, then I put them in vacuum sealed bags and froze em. I'm nervous...are they safe to eat?

They were caught from the Pacific Ocean...in a cooler after being cooked for about 2 hours. They were cooked (unfortunately) with the backs on, and I think they always smell funny, fresh or a few days old. Thats what is making me nervous!!

They are probably safe, but if you bought them in a grocery store, they may have been in their cooler for a few days as well. When you do get them out of the freezer to eat, make sure you toss the leftovers (if there are any). They probably wouldn't be safe to eat.

I wouldn't let them go any longer than another week.
