at least 19-22 grams but i'm crapping like 2-3 times a day! (excuse the rudeness)

The benefits of fiber better be worth it. Is it?

i'd cut down on the fiber a little, even though it's good for your colon, the excessive pooping is not

The average amount of grams of fiber, women should eat daily is 21, so you're well on target.

1. It prevents constipation.
2. Helps with weight loss.
3. Lowers Cholesterol.

Insoluble fiber possesses passive water-attracting properties that help to increase bulk, soften stool and shorten transit time through the intestinal tract. Soluble fiber undergoes active metabolic processing via fermentation, yielding end-products with broad, significant health effects.

On average, North Americans consume less than 50% of the dietary fiber levels required for good health. In the preferred food choices of today's youth, this value may be as low as 20%, a factor considered by experts as contributing to the obesity crisis seen in many developed countries.

The FDA statement template for making this claim is: Soluble fiber from foods such as [name of soluble fiber source, and, if desired, name of food product], as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease. A serving of [name of food product] supplies __ grams of the [necessary daily dietary intake for the benefit] soluble fiber from [name of soluble fiber source] necessary per day to have this effect

You need a balanced diet. Yes fiber is very important, but you need other nutrients also. Overloading your diet with any particular nutrient will cause it to function differently... possibly even poorly. Get plenty of carbs, calcium, etc. Your body will only accept the nutrients it needs, so if you are overloading it, and not being active enough, it will pass some off as waste.

First of all, 21 grams per day for female is the perfect amount of fiber.

Secondly, fiber is supposed to make you poop. And pooping is good for your body as long as you're not losing too much water due to watery poop.

Thirdly, I think you're cute for asking this question. =)

Join the club. I eat my own home-made muesli and sit on the throne 2 or 3 times a day. I enjoy a good crap. Don't you?

There is nothing wrong with going to bathroom 2-3 a day. That means you gave a healthy stool.

Fiber benefits your health by relieving and preventing constipation (as you well know) and hemorrhoids, also by preventing more serious health issues like heart disease, cancer, diabetes, diverticular disease, gallstones and kidney stones.
Yeah I would say it's worth it.

I think fiber keeps you fuller longer, you might want more fruit just in case you eat too much fiber, and get constipated.
