I have very long and very thick hair - because of this I tend to throw it back in a pony tail and it tends to get damaged and dry.

It is very straight, but once it's been up all day - it gets tangly.

At the end of the day, how can I best get my hair shiney and also what can I do about the tangles?

I have been told to put advacado and honey in my hair? Wouldn't that be a mess to get out???

*note* this is the first time I have let my hair grow long since being a kid - I have always had short hair... this whole "girl" thing is new to me ;)

I use conditioner - and some stuff I got from Sally Beauty Supplies - by Revlon - which is great for the silkiness, but not so great on shine! I want both!

honey, honey definately works, i use it all the time, and it comes off easily when you shampoo, use it with a bit of cinnamon, like a tsp and a few drops of olive oil. make a paste of it.

besides getting an ultra shine on your hair, its really soft and easy to style.

I have used honey. All you do is mix 1 part honey with 2 parts conditioner put it in your hair leave it in for 20 min. then rinse.

Good luck

P.S. After you mix your honey and conditioner together if it seems sticky just add a little more conditioner

stop wearing it up everyday!! even the straightest hair gets tangled and breaks from being worn in ponytails constantly! if you are not ready to embrace your girl side cut it off, because there are no products that can counteract the effect of you wearing ponytails everyday. I'm a cosmetologist and if you are still going to continue to wear your hair up,hopefully because of work, go to a salon at least once a month, it's worth it.

get you fave conditioner, and no don't got to be expensive kind..after washing hair, or wetting it.. put a lot a lot a lot of conditioner in hair, then place plastic bag over hair.leave in for at least 10-30 min longer is better.. then rince...
There you go a cheap way to get a deep conditoning treatment at home..
it will make you hair look shiney , alive and alot more manageable,, trust me i do it about once aweek.

Conditioner does wonders. I used to use mayo when I was a teenager! Avacado and honey would be kind of sticky. Have you considered gettting a different cut.... Mine is very thick and I had layers cut into it and it is much better!

use some good products from the salon and you will begin to notice a big difference. store shampoos , conditioners and products are not set up to be balanced for your hair or they would cost you a lot more. check into redken products, or matrix products.

You can try olive oil. Sometimes people try mayonnaise or different combinations. Just do an online search for different home remedies on your hair.

Try this site, or others.
