I'm wondering... I'm a person that is successful and doesn't really care what anyone thinks of me. Other people don't enter my mind too much.
If god is a almighty being, why does he not share the same views as me? Why would he care what humans think, we are worthless and meaningless? Surely we are are of very little significance to god, similar to human's significance placed on ants?
It makes absolutely no sense that god would sit around all day watching what everyone does unless he does that to laugh at moronic human behaviour?

you're presuming that God has anthropomorphic qualities and actually 'mentates'.
What's the use of thinking if you're omniscient?

God is different from you as God is not constrained by any degree of ignorance(and I don't mean just you...I'm constrained by it as well!)

I think that maybe your view of God is a bit too human. God isn't some dude sitting up on a white cloud watching the world from outside. As a pantheist, I believe that the universe is an extension and manifestation of God. God cares about and minds everything in the universe just as you care about and mind your own body. God can't ignore a person or even a single ant any more than you could ignore your own foot.

Well, for one thing, I imagine that it's not a trivial thing to create a planet with intricate ecosystems and climates and species of animals. The earth would be an emense accomplishment and I think that God would be interested in seeing what happened to all His time and effort in creating this planet.

For another, since He created us as well, I imagine that he'd be interested in seeing how his children fared on earth and wants to give us as much help as He can in preparing us for what comes next (the afterlife) by giving us commandments. I'm certain that there must be something more to Heaven than sitting on a cloud and playing a harp for eternity, especially after the world ends. I imagine that all this faithfulness will help us progress somehow after we die.

Lastly, if there is a person who has everything he could ever want, what else would he strive for? Suddenly after all the material things are acquired, personal relationships become important. For example, Bill Gates has mountains of money, so now he's donating lots of it to various causes and you can't tell me that he's doing it solely for tax purposes. Since God presumably has everything anyone could want (immortality, ultimate power, etc.) it makes sense to me that He'd spend His efforts on other people....us lowly humans.

I do think that there are times though that God would look down on us running around down here and laugh at our silly mistakes, like parents laugh at the goofy things their kids do as they explore the world around them. But I think He laughs in a loving fatherly way and not a mocking way.

God(Jesus) is watching everything that goes on thru the ones that have Him living in their heart. We are God's children that's why he loves us,also God is love that's what He does,if you don't know love then you don't know God,that's what the bible says.Love is not a feeling,it is patient, kind, forgiving, thinks the best of every person, does not keep a record of wrongs done to it,is not rude, you can read more about it in 1 Corinthians 13:4 in the bible. When you ask Jesus to live in your heart you begin to see things like God sees them.

And it is that very fact that makes His love for us so gracious. In Isaiah, the question is raised, "What is man that Thou art mindful of him?" We ARE so incredibly insignificant that it DOESN'T make any sense at all to pay any attention to us. And yet, not only does He pay attention, He loves us and wants to have a personal relationship with us as Father to child. "Oh the love that drew salvation's plan, oh the grace that brought it down to man, oh the mighty gulf that God did span at Calvary!" There's a little thing I read, and many here probably have too: "I asked the Lord, 'How much do you love me?' 'This much,' He said, and He spread His arms and died [in my place]."

The finite can not comprehend the infinite. There's a book I think it's called Flatland(s). It's a from the view point of geometrical figures.
