Here is why I will not listen to myself, and search within myself for the answer, Scripture very clearly states...
Jeremiah 17:9-
“The heart is deceitfully wicked, who can know it?”
None can know the full extent of the wickedness of our hearts except God himself.

"There are too many 'religious' people who become religious precisely to avoid having to think," writes the dean of a theological seminary in the United States. "They simply want to accept everything 'on faith,'" he adds.
The implication is that most people who profess religious faith give little thought to why they believe what they do or to whether there is a reasonable basis for their faith. It is no wonder that religion has become a topic that many are reluctant to talk about...

One thing I love about being one of Jehovah's Witnesses, is that we learn & teach others how to ask pointed questions, how to teach ourselves, & develop common sense. We don't just issue facts, but, rather -- show where they can be found.
We encourage what the Bible commands:
"Make sure of all things; Hold fast to what is fine." 1Th 5:21
(PS -- We teach to look within God's word, the Bible. If something harmonizes with the Entire Bible --as opposed to contradicting its principles or other statements-- then it is true. Many church teachings contradict it. God is the one with the answer/s, not any group or individual.)

I think the reason people ask about religion/god, is because they are naturally curious. Of course some people are more curious than others, and that is when religion is formed, when someone has a "good hunch" on how we got here. They believe that they know what happened and they are willing to bet all their money on it. But I agree, people should not blindly make assumptions about God and the world because there is no way to find out. Even if we could "travel back in time" or something like that,we could not even image what was going on. And that uncertainty, is what makes people want to fill in the gaps and have a single reason for everything that happens in life. That is why I do not believe solely on a Religion. I believe that there is no way in the universe for us us to know anything other than what is happening on Earth. I think that we should just live our lives and try as hard as possible to please ourselves and the people around us.

You sound like you are on the right path. Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of God is within us. Everyone looks outside of themselves. The answer is within.
I have been thinking about all of the different religions and beliefs that we see here. And I have come to this conclusion. A conclusion that includes the Atheist too.
There is one truth in all religions. Sometimes that truth is obscured by other ideas and practices and cultures. That one truth is that the greatest power in the world is Love. Christians say that God is Love. If we let go of all that we know about our religion whatever that religion is and look at just one thing... I think that we can all agree on this and this alone. Love.
It doesn't matter is there is a God or not. It doesn't matter if Jesus was God, or God's son or just a carpenter that lived and died like the rest of us. What matters is Love. Can we love our-self enough not to destroy our-self with drugs, etc? Can we love our earth enough not to destroy it? Can we love our family, our friends, our neighbor, and even our enemy? If we can Love in all of these ways, we need not look for God, or Enlightenment. We will have found the truth and it shall set us free.
Peace.

People want to know and they ask. The people who say there is only one way are stating what their particular belief is. If you think that the person asking the question is swayed by the "right" answer, then I can assure you, you are incorrect. There I go, being right again. Of course, it is only my opinion. Oh, just another quick thought here. Why do you use this forum? Aren't you looking for things to think about? If not, you just could be in the wrong forum. (sorry, I did it again.)

we do look with in and some of the questions we already know the answers to, bur the format is to ask a question , not tell the answer. J Krishnamurti said when 2 people dialog, ask questions they may come up with a 3 answer that nether of them were thinking about.
that why i like it here you hear some strange stuff you never thought about, and you can help other , start thinking in a new way.
if it were just proselytizing , nothing would be accomplished

the 1st premise you have stated are genuinely genuine. God is logical (I hate to declare "created" logic) and the universe is a logical place because of fact He created it that way. This grew to become into the inspiration for technology interior the western way of life; the concept that the universe grew to become into logical, knowable and predictable because of this. the priority comes with, "maximum non secular individuals are under straightforward". There are numerous issues to evaluate right here: one million. all and sundry can declare to be non secular, and a few do for under non secular motives. Christians counter this with numerous places interior the scriptures that state, genuinely, which you will comprehend the tree with the help of that's fruit. 2. logic isn't taught anymore so human beings do no longer comprehend a thank you to genuine use it, the two of their very own concept structures or of their interpersonal kinfolk. This regularly leads human beings, of their hobby, to do issues which at the instant are not constantly the main 'straightforward' even in spite of the indisputable fact that their heart is interior the stunning place. (in case you have examine any of my previous posts you will comprehend my opinion on that) 3. Being pardoned won't be the priority right here, that's know-how and keenness. i do no longer comprehend that any of those constitutes a sin.

Faith is all well and good if it were just faith. However, have you noticed that some claim their faith as fact and truth for all?
You're absolutely correct that no one knows for sure. Yet, it seems some think they do and want everyone to follow their conception of god.
Go figure.

we need to look to each other for opinions to help us understand ourselves sometimes. it helps to use a third person perspective to analyze a question this hard...
not all of us know all the different approaches to this question, may it be christian, muslim, atheist, or buddist... i think as long as we talk about it, maybe there is a chance we can not just discover the "truth" but find a path more comfortable to our own beliefs.
did that make sense? im starting to get drunk... =D

Why is it that everyone is asking questions about God like some one actually has the right true answer???
because cultists get off by acting like they know god and know what god wants of everyone.
it makes them feel self-important. imagine the ego these people must have!!
