Never heard that one--seriously doubt it's true though--Pitt's are no different than any of the protection breeds--it's how they are raised and handled--ignorant/abusive people make ignorant/abusive dogs!--(not the dog's fault either)--kind/ loving people make kind/loving dogs!!!

I've heard that too, but I have to say that its not true. There are those in the world who think that everybody should follow their opinion on something, and if they don't they will try to make it sould like there is something scientificly wrong. Pit Bull are really sweet and great with kids (At least ones that are around kids...) I do have to say that they LOVE their family and some will probably attack if they feel the urgent need to. I think there is room in the world for all the breeds, and I don't listen to the 'poodle breeder' or whoever who only thinks that 'their type of dogs' are the only ones that people should be allowed to have

This is not true. Don't believe everything you hear. Pit bulls are not aggressive toward humans they have been breed over the years to be non aggressive toward humans. In dog fights the dogs owners had to be able to handle the dog at all times, so any form of human aggression always ended in the death of the dog. Pits are aggressive toward other dogs and animals. Pits are great with children they can tolerate the rough housing from children and love it. I have three kids and 5 pits. The only problem we have ever had is that the dogs are extremely jealous of each other.

Yes, although it not solely pitbulls. Other dogs that are known to be aggressive breeds (dobermans, rottweilers, etc) can be affected the same way. It is like a switch that turns on in their brains and the do not know how to turn it off.
When my basset hound was a puppy, I took her with me to a friend's apartment and before even getting through the threshold of the door, she was attacked by a pitbull and had to go to the Emergency Vet. The pitbull's owners are very loving and I have met the dogs on my own numerous times before.
I have also seen many pitbulls fight and bite one another and other dogs at the dog park. Some people love the breed. I myself would not ever own a pitbull.

Pit Bulls are an "aggressive" breed, with a strong, powerful body build. Here in Hawaii, they are the favored breed of dogs for wild pig hunting. ANY dog breed can be dangerous if they are not trained and handled correctly. I know several families who have Pit Bulls for pets.

I use to work in the dog pound/ Spca here. We routinely got in pitt bulls, and I do say they are the sweetest dogs ever! The only dogs that we had trouble with where the toy breeds like chiuhahua's and pom's. The rule is bad people make bad dogs. Also uniformed people make bad dogs. It's not the dog. In rare cases dogs with aggresive parents tend to be aggresive aswell. They just need propler training and socialization.

Pets are not born dangerous. Its the owners who raise their pets to be dangerous.
My Pitbull Moses is 7 and the sweetest dog ever. He is protective of his owners yes, but would never harm anyone who is not trying to hurt us.
My fiance's 15 month old loves Moses. He gives her kisses all of the time and we have no fear that he would ever hurt her. He is a good dog.
Pit bulls are no more dangerous than any other type of dog. I am more scared of little tiny dogs than pit bulls

I don't think so, but I do believe there are dangerous owners!
I'm sure you have also heard that Dobermans go mad as they get older, due to the story that their skull shrinks and puts pressure on their brains. Don't really know about that either.

lol no. its only in the person who owns them, if gangsters didnt put such a bad rep to them their wouldnt even be a bad rep. but gangsters are always in the spotlight an they always have pitbulls so its natural what occurs, its not the dogs fault its the peoples , do you think it makes sence that thier brain would produce a special enzyme? that would be a scientific miracal an would be a vary wide known thing , you wouldnt even be asking because everyone would be aware of that kind of thing

They can be agressive if defending their owner or territory, just like other breeds, of course it always goes back to how they are raised. I think they have gotten a bad wrap
