Well I've been thinking of trying out for track but I don't know if I'd be good at it. So I was wondering what goes on during try outs and what goes on during practice so I could see if I'm actually ready for track.

Well tryouts and practices are different in all places. But tryouts usually will consist of racing a specific event. If it is outdoor track, then you would probably be tested in running a 100, 200, or 400 meter event, that is if you want to be a sprinter. If you don't know if you would be good, or if you don't like it, then you might as well try it out, it can't hurt. You could always go to tryouts, and if you don't enjoy it, you don't have to continue.

tryouts are like an informal track meet, they will let you run in a number of events to see what you are good at. It lets the coach see who can run well, and who has good form and a good attitude.

practice is lots of drills, and LOTS of running. you will be dead tired after the first couple, but after that your body gets used to it.
