I have heard about the LoJack system which tracks your vehicle if stolen and its early warning system. If you own a LoJack system or know someone that does, can you give me some information and what you think about it and if you think it is worth getting over a traditional car alarm?

If you own a LoJack system or know someone that does, can you give me some information and what you think about it and if you think it is worth getting over a traditional car alarm? I have a 1992 Honda Civic Hatchback. I just put an $8000 engine in it with over $3000 performance upgrades.

Lojack is highly effective at recovering a stolen vehicle, but not protecting it from vandalism or protecting the vehicle contents from theft. If your primary concern is getting the vehicle back if it's been stolen, then Lojack is the way to go; if you're concerned about preventing break-ins, then a more conventional alarm may be a better choice.

Of course, there's no reason you can't get both.

My mom bought a Camry and got a LoJack because it's the mostly commonly stolen car in the country. Totally worth it for her. For you, it's a personal decision if it's worth it or not. However, it is definately more effective than a standard alarm.

When was the last time you saw a police car respond to a car alarm? They are so common and get set off accidentally so frequently, no one pays any attention to them. If you've already invested that much money in the car, get the Lo Jack.

They are very expensive compared to a standard alarm. If the car is worth it then it is a good investment. I'm thinking they are about 1,200. They work much better than a standard which most people ignore these days. However, if you have a 93 Honda, probably not worth it.

How much does the car mean to you? Lo Jack has something like a 98% recovery rate. but, you pay to play. So if the car is that valuable or it means that much to you then go with Lo Jack. they are good ones.
