Well a uncooked bone is better for a dog as it is pliable and does not splinter or break up and beome a dangerous choking or puncture risk like a cooked Bone. Even big Beef Bones (thigh bones) that are baked can be dangerous.
If I give my dogs a raw bone, I par-booil it for a couple minutes to kill Bacteria more so because of man's poor practices. When I get a Deer kill, I'll give my dogs bones while processing the carcass. No par-boil. It's natural, and no worries of splintering.
I wouldn't agree that giving dogs any raw food is always good. Although they have excellent immune systems and a carnivore's digestive system, they can still be subject to E-Coli, Samonella, and other bacteria.

Because it is the way dogs are should eat and it is better for their digestion and healthier. Since dogs have begun regularly eating dog food their life spans have decreased and health problems have gotten worse also allergies are so common now and years ago you rarely heard of dogs having so many problems. What changed? Another thing eating raw bones does for the dog is keep the teeth clean so there is no need for the expensive cleanings that are recommended routinely. So by feeding them the way they should eat you get a healthier and happier dog.
Dogs are designed for crushing bone and tearing flesh. They are not designed to eat "cooked" anything. They can digest it but have a much harder time with than they would a natural raw diet.

Many people believe that raw bones are safe because since they have not been cooked they will not splinter (like cooked bones do). I personally do not buy into it. I just feel that there are so many bacteria in raw meats and bones that the animal should not eat it, even though there is an old wives tale that dogs can consume such products and be fine. I have seen dogs almost die from salmonella and e-coli infections. In my opinion you should not give dogs raw bones, but that is just my personal opinion. I am positive that other people feel differently and that is fine, but I do not feel that way..

What you are referring to is a Barf (bones and raw food) diet. It is a matter of opinion as to whether it is healthy for a dog. First with raw meats, the dog is susceptible to different bacteria and parasites. In the wild a dog eats a fresh kill and it hasn't gone through the nasty processing that the meat we buy does. Still dogs in the wild are usually infested with worms and other parasites. Bones are fed raw because once a bone is cooked it loses the enzymes that allows a dog to digest it. Even wild animals(lions, tigers, etc.) are unable to digest cooked bones.

i dont know all the specifics but animals have a different level of acid and enzymes in their stomachs to be able to eat and digest MOST raw meat and bones. do not, however give them chicken, turkey or smaller bones as they tend to splinter and can really cause trouble. ask your vet for more info.

they have stronger stomach acid and better digestive enzymes, and a shorter gut so nothing gets to ferment in there...
