Not at all. A religion is a set of common beliefs. You won't find that in atheism.
There are basically two camps of atheists: Weak atheists and strong atheists.
A weak atheist doesn't believe in the existence of gods. That kind of passive belief cannot be a religion. It is like categorizing not playing golf as a sport. It's not even a belief.
Now, a strong atheist is as close to having a belief as you can get for atheists. A strong atheist believes there is no god. While it is a belief (and a fairly potent one), it isn't a belief system. Strong atheists don't go around with potluck dinners and "revivals."
There isn't much that atheists have in common--pretty much not acknowledging the existence of gods.

Atheism is not a religion. A religion is a belief in god(s). Atheism is the lack of belief in god(s).
Therefore you can look at it like this:
Atheism = no beliefs in any god(s).
Religion = belief in god(s).
So how can atheism be a religion?
You mistake the meaning of atheism when you try to define it as a belief in no god(s). You don't have to do that to be an atheist. All you have to do is not have any beliefs in god(s) to be an atheist. Do you get the difference?

The idea of having to actively believe that something does not exist is ridiculous. It's nonbelief...the lack of belief. Other people believe in it, we don't, therefore it's the lack of belief from what others hold. My view requires no effort...

I will take time to answer this when you take time to learn how to spell. If you want to know something about a "group" of people, at least learn how to spell the "group" you are attempting to learn about.

No it is not, because we do not believe in something at all. let's take the word atheism (yes, that is how you spell it).
a (without) + theos (god or religion).
The word itself explains it all.

It's a disbelief. A-Theism. It's the opposite of theism. This question has been answered already today. Maybe try that useful search bar where it says "Search for questions"

See most of them are just bahsteds in discuise :)
Don't even study them. They are not really atheists anymore they just become hateful, sometimes even to the point of the exact opposite where they begin to worship satan because they hate christians and God sooo much ^^
Let God deal with their ignorance.
It's a waste of time all together to try and teach a shark to give hugs instead of wanting to eat you, but all you have to do is flip a shark in the nose heh.

No, religion requires FAITH.
NOT believing in something that is not supported by a modicum of proof is just acceptance.
