I am a 42 year old male who is very nervous when I see a woman I find attractive. I can barely make eye contact and usually cannot smile at her without blushing. I haven't dated in a really long time and have a lot of self-esteem and confidence issues in general. I feel that I am really held back in the whole dating world. Any advice for me to break out of this pattern?

Well, honey the best way to overcome this fear is to find out what is causing it. I think by what you said in your question that you are afraid of rejection. You think that you are not worth a specific woman's attention and that you will kind of put a spell on your mind. You mind will keep telling you that you are not good enough, and your mind is over powering your heart which is more than likely telling you to give it a try. If you really want to talk with a pretty girl remember, the best pick up line is always the simplest one. Just go up and say "Hello My name is ......." A lot of women don't want to waste there time with cheesy lines and stupid jokes. Just be yourself. Cause there is no point in being anyone else. You want that person to like you for who you are. And remember self esteem and confidence is only going to work if you believe that you are worth the attention. So go out by yourself and no that there is nothing to be ashamed of. A woman will find that incredibly sexy. I know I do.

You will never know if you never say anything. If they aren't interested in you so what. The worst thing they can do is say no.The odds say if you ask out enough women eventually one will say yes.But it is far better to ask and know then walk away wondering.Living life on what ifs is no life at all. There is no secret to dating nor is there any cure all for shyness.Still the more you speak the more it becomes habit and the less you will fear it.Keeping your mouth closed will keep you alone.

haha dis is normal for lots of peeps..well tellin u now im a young one

but wenever i approach a girl i neva met b4 u hav to remember dat..u hav no relations with her so if you mess up no one will know except you and her and dat doesnt matter right? cuz u dont no her personally
One thing i have told my friends is that..nothing bad can happen..the most common response is."I could forget my name or say something stupid."
why is this bad? you dont even know her

if you do know the girl..if she is a friend she won't make things uncomfortable but will jus be honest hopefully
