Like the guy a couple answers above me said in WA its not illegal. But my wife was driving onto a navy base in wa without shoes and the guy at the gate gave her a hard time about it. None of the other guards have ever said anything, so I think it just him being a jerk.

Depends where you're at. I'll tell you in California it's illegal IF you have a commercial driver's license but not for a normal license.

I have not seen anything in WA that prohibits barefoot driving.
