In the situation that a nonbeliever or atheist holds a protest against a faith healer that encourages the throwing away of necessary medication that applies a scientifically proven method of healing and life promotion, then why does the atheist get threatened with violence by the supporters of the Christian faith healer?
An example of this can be found in books by David Mills and Richard Dawkins.

It's not that difficult to prompt violence from the religious. Walk into a church and announce your gay--then you'll see real violence.

Because the supporters of the Christian faith healer hate atheists.
Of course he shouldn't have been threatened.

These books were written by Christian's to support their belief. It doen't have any true meaning unless you are already of this belief. I know many atheists and I have never seen them show any signs of violence whatsoever. I can't say the same for Christians.

as a christian, i have to agree in the absurdity of the "stoning" of the non-believer. show me a christian who has never questioned his/her faith and i will show you one who bears false witness to make themselves look better.
while i do believe that miracles can happen, i also believe that God gave man and woman our abilities so that we could excercise free will and produce the very things that will heal us.
perhaps the next stage of spiritual healing will allow us the knowledge to cure cancer or aids or even the common cold.
as for faith healing, i have trouble with anybody who states that they can heal anybody on this earth. if one is sol afflicted, then only by medicine and faith can the illness be cured and then, not always.
when a christian (or anybody) threatens someone who does not follow or observe their faith, then they only magnify their own ignorance in their proclaimed faith.

A true Christian will not threaten someone else. It is against all that Jesus taught. This is just another example of man himself using religion to further his own goals.

When you believe you will (and everyone can) live forever then the value of human life (and life in general) is cheapened and unappreciated. How can you value something you believe you will never loose?

Because the theists think that the atheists are messing with the "will of God", and that makes them mad.
