I would say DO NOT lock the door, because if you do so yes would get the hint that she needs to sleep in her own bed but in the other hand she would begin getting distance from the family circle. In this age you do not want to lose the family value in her, because it could lead into dishonesty and drug problems.
The best way is to talk to her, get into details and see why she doesnt like to sleep in her bed (Maybe she is scared of something in her room). show her other kids her age as a role model.

Ok are you not the parent of your 12 year old daughter? You are letting her control the situation. You need to explain to her that your bedroom is only for you and her father. She has her own room to sleep in. Take control and don't let her get away with things. Tell her that she needs to obey on what you say to her.

You are the adult in the situation! Remember that. . . enforce it a little. It sounds like she is 'ruling the roost'. Allow her to sleep in the same bed as you only for special occasions. . . perhaps after watching a scary movie or something? Do not allow it to become a regular activity with her 3yr old sister and ensure she knows that her friends probably do-not sleep with their parents. .

Be the parent. So what if she gets mad; don't give in. Just tell her that it is inappropriate for her to sleep with you at her age and lock your door. If you are more stubborn than she is, this will soon be resolved.

I think you need to put your foot down. 12 is way to old to be sleeping with you. if you have to lock your door every night do it. till she gets the hint. sit down and have a talk with her so that she understands why you don't want her sleeping with you. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!

talk to her about why she feels she needs to sleep in your bed. maybe something is going on in her life and she is scared or needs comforting. shut her out of the bedroom, but don't shut her out.
