That depends on your body. Do you have good knees? If not, buy the elliptical. The treadmill on the other hand, can be used for various exercises, such as walking, running, or hill climbing. Ellipticals burn a lot of calories, and are easy on your joints. If I were you, I would get an elliptical, and when it is nice outside, you can walk or run.

I'd say an elliptical. You don't want to punish your joints by doing too many high impact exercises. Besides the elliptical burns just the same amount of calories as the tread mill. Try running or jogging outside once a week for a change of pace

Get a gym membership, or if your local YMCA is good get a membership there. You'll never be able to buy all the equipment a gym membership allows you access to. You need to build muscle (weights, machines, etc...) as well as burn calories (eliptical, treadmill etc..). If you don't strength train you are working against yourself and your goals.

Besides machines at home have a way of becoming expensive clothes racks and dust gatherers.

A good pair of running shoes, a bench to step or jump on, a skipping rope, a few heavy dumbells and barbells; that's all you need.
I bet that whatever you buy, treadmill or elliptical, it will end up on Ebay after collecting dust for a while.
These machines restrict your choice of exercise. They end up being boring and you don't get anything out of them after a while because you need variety to keep motivated and get some results.
Save your money for a holiday.

i recomment attending 24 hour fitness club or some other club u'd like because (i know it cause it happened to me) when u buy the machine it'll work at first but when something goes wrong with it would suck. and at the gym if anything breaks it's never ur fault. so yeah that's what i recommend. and also if u wanna burn lots or calories outside then try runnning up the hill and in the sand at the beach (cause it's soo much tougher than any cardio machine and better for ur health cause it's outside). good luck :)

A computer pc with a wi-fi web connection is the nice piece of gear you'll be able to have. SwiftWX is exceptional monitoring program, however now not principal. It may also be mixed with a GPS attached in your pc (probably your wi-fi gadget) to plan your role on radar maps of storms. EDIT: Oops, I forgot one principal piece of gear, an inverter to run different electric gear off of.

I am speaking from experience, you will lose more fat without these machine, its all about working OUT! Don't spend money on those machine now, start to lose wieght on your own inniative, start to feel active, then buy those machines.

First go to a gym and workout on both for a week and see which you like better, then shop around for a used one that maybe someone is selling because they don't use it.
