Golden treasures I contain, guarded by hundreds and thousands. Stored in a labyrinth where no man walks, yet men come often to seize my gold. By smoke I am overcome and robbed, then left to build my treasure anew. What am I?

Well it contains gold and is guarded.
You cant walk so that leads me to believe that its water
And men can come in boats to seize it.
The smoke could be from a cigarette or a gun.
I guess the earth/ mountain because they blast the gold out and then the land has to remake it and it's guarded by thousands of rocks.

Iguess its a clear, yellowish oil deep into the ground, guarded by the saudi government and set to fire by saddams army in the 90's and eventually over millions of years it will replace its self, petroleum does come from some plants
