Of course I know athiests and the scientific community. Im talking about cultures in more ancient terms, in a broad sense.

Yes but the where buddhism is practiced, regionally, places like china and tibet... there are a lot of dragons in symobolism and architecture...from ancient cultures...

I don't think this motif appears in every culture and religion. In fact, I'd say that most cultures/religions don't talk about the return of a dragon/serpent. The Romans didn't. Neither did the Greeks. Nor did Buddhists, or Sikhs, to name just a few.

Buddhism. Most of the Eastern Wisdoms do not teach this because the serpent or dragon is the struggle within. See if you can get a copy of the book Monkey.

Ah ...... Symbols of Dragon in Chinese architecture is not because of Buddhist but because of history. Dragon play an important part in Chinese History, read up on the History and you will understand.

I think the Greeks pretty much just had beasties around all the time. I don't think any creatures were coming back in ancient Egyptian beliefs.
