I've been missing a girl for 11 months. I liked her, then fell in love with her, but she never liked me back. She got mad at me for a mistake I made which takes too much explanation and two months later she told me she didn't want to talk to me anymore. I HAD NOT been talking to her since she said she didn't want to talk to me anymore. So I gave her what she wanted. We used to say hi occasionally after that when we went back to school. I thought things would be cool between us so recently for the 1st time I tried to talk to her. When I asked her how she was, she kept her back turned towards me, unlike when I saw her sneak so many glances at me this past year. She texted on her phone. She never even looked at me, never said a word. I told her I only wanted us to be friends again but she wasn't hearing me. She talked to everyone who came in the hall but me. I just said "ok, I get the point, you don't have to say anything else. I guess I'll just see you around." I left the hall.

We had a friendship that lasted 4 months. I have an idea to slyly both recognize her birthday tomorrow (she'll be 17, I'm 17) and ignore her. The idea is:
(1) I won't say happy birthday to her or look at her
(2) I'll tell her friend(s) that I know it's her birthday, but if she says anything about me not saying happy birthday to her (which she probably won't)
(3) Then her friend(s) (who talk to me) Could tell her that I probably knew it was her birthday but I didn't say anything in order to give her what she wants and stay out of her life.
I care about her alot, enough to WANT to get her something just because (as well as to let her go) but I'm just NOT going to. After her birthday, I'm forgetting all about her because I see that she'll never care for me the way I do for her.

I had ALREADY been PAYING HER NO ATTENTION by not calling, messaging, or talking to her except for when I said I tried.

THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING!!!! I'M SAYING I'LL RECOGNIZE HER BIRTHDAY WITHOUT ACTUALLY TALKING TO HER SINCE SHE CAN'T STAND ME, BY TALKING TO HER FRIENDS THAT STILL LIKE ME, SO THAT I CAN LEAVE HER ALONE FOR GOOD LIKE I'VE BEEN DOING ALL THIS TIME!!!

Judging by how stuck she is on this grudge she seems to be holding, she seems to be way to much of a drama queen. You've made the decision to move on, do it. No sense in playing the birthday game you've conspired. It's not sly, it's passive aggressive, which is pointless. Cut your losses and don't put yourself in a position to mess up your friendship with her friends...because they have other friends too, and above all, just be the bigger person.

My question is how could you fall in love with someone who never liked you back? When was there ever a two way relationship here? Whatever your plan may be, it sounds like either way you will not have what you want. Unless of course you continue to play these games and if you do win, um..what exactly are you getting? Other than a girl that doesn't like you back.

Stop and think about what you are doing. You are trying so hard to win her back you haven't even taken the time to stop and think if your actually winning anything worth keeping! Be true to yourself, stop the silly games and find someone that will love you back.
