Everything you listed is what pschology calls "magical thinking." Once you believe there is a higher power, some religion will TELL you that there is a devil and other mythical creatures.
Atheists can be part of the Unitarian Universalism church. There is no sacred book such as a bible because UUs look for wisdom every where. UUs have no creed which must be repeated at every service. I'm referring to the Nicean creed which has been drummed into every Christian since the Council at Nicea convened in 366 CE (give or take a few years.)
If you want to believe things that people TELL you to believe even if it doesn't make sense or sounds like someone actually rearranged the laws of physics, that's your CHOICE.
On the other hand, if you are an independent thinker with an open mind, you won't fall for a lot of that stuff.
Whatever makes you comfortable.

Whether its christianity or buddhism or hinduism or atheism.. we should not consider it as a religion.. Its just a way of living! So an athiest may have his own belief's and you cannot change that.. for example in Hinduism.. God explained the Dharma and law of Karma.. so now its upto individual what he believes is right or wrong, but there are certain laws which cannot be changed.

No, of course not. People continually insist that atheism is a religion because it involves "belief" (which it doesn't) and because the dictionary calls it a "doctrine" (though I haven't been able to get ONE person to explain to me the teachings derived specifically from atheism).

Atheism is a lack of belief in god or gods. It is that simple. Anyone trying to read into it any further are wrong. Atheism has nothing to do with evolution or any other theories.

Religion is defined as belief concerning the supernatural, sacred, or divine, and the moral codes, practices and institutions associated with such belief.
Atheism is defined as the doctrine or belief that there is no God.
So yes, atheism is a religion.

No, it's not a religion. And it's interesting that the people who say it is tend to be fundamentalist Christians who are trying to debase it.

>"Atheism" by definition, is "No religion".
Atheists are those who simply don't buy into old myths and hot wet fertilizer. They are mostly very intelligent people who just don't see any logic in the old folktales.<

As far as I know, it is not a religion. Have you ever looked up the word religion in the dictionary?
