I have a MS Word file and I want to change it into a PDF file. I have Adobe Acrobat but I don't know how to use it to do this. Please help and be as thorough as possible.
Thanks in advance.

You likely have the freely available Adobe Acrobat Reader. This lets you view PDF files. To make PDF files you need to use one of Adobe's not-free software solutions. Check out the "Acrobat Family" section at this page: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/

Click on the "info" link next to each product for more information. It looks like that have a web-based converter available. Most of the software you can try for free so if it's a one-time thing you shouldn't have to pay.

Install Acrobat Reader & Writer. It will appear in printers, Now just send print and select the Adobe Acrobat Printer from MS. Word or any other applicaiton. It will ask for file name and location to be stored.

This file will be in the PDF Format.

See if you have a Printer option for "Adobe PDF". Acrobat usually installs a Printer Object for this function.

If so, print the document, but choose that printer, it will then ask you for a location to save the file and that's it.

Open the MS Word document. Go to File -> Print -> Select printer (select 'Acrobat Distiller' as print target) -> OK. It will ask for file name of target (PDF).

I suggest the straightforward program Primo PDF. http://www.primopdf.com/ what u do with it is you do a file print to primo pdf and instead of printing it will convert it to a pdf. Very Nifty.

go to www.openoffice.org, install openoffice, this is a freeware that lets you open any ms office document (not sure about office 2003 pro edition) but if save your file from word to older office formats, openoffice will let you open word, excel, powerpoint files and transforms them "FREE" to pdf.

Hope that helped,
