Outlook Express is Bundled with Internet Explorer...and is Free...has less stuff and is designed solely for E-mail....

Outlook is bundled with Microsoft Office....is not free....has a lot more stuff and is designed to help you organize your life...more like a appointment book.

They are "sisters." OE is e-mail only. Outlook has e-mail, calendar, journal, etc. Users use OE for e-mail when they do not have Outlook.
