OH, cool.. and off the wall (pardon the pun). We have a blue painting of a crane, done by my mother in law that won her a blue ribbon. Another family painting is a sketch of a yard with a swing and outhouse, done by hubby's sister. Years ago, my parents had a talented neighbor paint a country scene with a barn and hand water pump. Another personal gift was a watercolor of a butterfly... when I was making a big change in my life. I'm proud that I am accumulating real art from family and friends.
Last is not personal, except bought from estate sale of dear friend. It's actually a print, not painting. It is by Gabrielle Rodo Boulanger (looked her up online) who does whimsical art. This is called Tour de France and has 5 boys on bicycles..with wonderful vibrant colors. Sets a real playful mood
LOL... didn't expect a chance to talk about these things, which I have been rearranging lately. Thanks..

I have a nude charcoal drawing of a studio model (Christina). I did it back in '93. I had an art friend of mine encase it in a glass wooden frame. The figure is realistic (not photograhic though). She is sitting on a barstool with her legs spread open. Her hands are crossed in between her legs. Her posture is erect. Her head slightly tilted back so that her hair drapes behind her shoulders. We have a slight left side view of her body. The light plays off her forehead, breast, and thighs. You get a real sense of her weight in the space. She seems solid; real. There are some bold lines as well, which give direction to the form. And the values are true to the composition. Art is beautiful.

Original desert landscape from a thrift shop. Impressionist looking. The net has a few details about the artist and I could make a few bucks by auctioning the painting, but I won't.

i assume it relies upon on how lots room you want to soak up. I also have a small front room that's oblong...my television is on my greater wall nonetheless...I even have 2 small end tables, a coffee table, a recliner, a settee, my television stand and a small and great bookshelf. My mothers and dads have a greater front room and function their television on the small wall and that they have a rubdown chair, 2 recliners, an overstuffed chair (next to the television dealing with removed from it), 2 end tables, and a settee. The crammed chair and settee are the two overstuffed kinds. relies upon on the type you want room to be taken up.
