You can download free upgrades to Panther (10.3.x) or Tiger (10.4.x) for Mac OS X:

Still you do have to at least pay for the original version. Fortunately if you bought Panther, it would be a lot cheaper than the Tiger version. I think that Panther is a fantastic version of the Mac OS X. As people are upgrading too, they might be interested in selling their older version to you.
Apple doesn't depend upon the older versions of the OS to upgrade. Each upgrade is an independent OS. Some Macintosh users call it your Apple tax. You might try checking out a local Mac users group in your area and ask around.

There is no legal way to download Mac OS X. Also, you will need a mac or a good mac emulator to run it, it will not run on a regular PC without extra software. I would suggest looking on eBay. There are usually some pretty good deals on things like that. Or you could try half.com.

I doubt you can because it is probably ilegal but u can download Linux for free i thhink.
